Engineering is at the heart of our projects and people are central to our success. Acergy is committed to training and development as well as providing an exciting and challenging work environment with global opportunities and first class career development programmes.

Graduate Engineers are fundamental to the progression and development of our engineering capabilities and through our industry-leading Graduate Engineer Development Scheme (GEDS) we ensure they are developed to be the best in the industry. GEDS is a two-year scheme and is fully accredited by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in the UK. It has been developed and continually supported by Acergy Engineering experts. The scheme involves both on and off the job development and exposes Engineers to a variety of engineering disciplines and elements of project execution including dedicated offshore opportunities.

The GEDS provides an environment which promotes and supports the development of your knowledge, skills and expertise. GEDS will take you on a developmental journey which will be challenging but will also be rewarding, exciting and fun.

The GEDS comprises four main elements:

  • Off-the-job training courses
A series of training sessions on technical and non-technical subjects, delivered by Acergy experts offsite, where current participants are brought together to learn, develop and network
  • On-the-job development
Work placements vary and you could be allocated to a specific project, discipline or functional position
  • Mentoring
You are allocated a mentor to provide advice and guidance on your career development within Acergy
  • Personal development
You are given a series of tools to support you in planning your learning, development and your career path

Our commitment:
We continuously strive to:

  • Provide you with necessary skills, via GEDS, to be a potential leader in your field
  • Support you from our local and corporate offices throughout your time on GEDS
  • Provide the means to develop your technical and non-technical skills in the office, offshore and in fabrication yards, through attendance at courses and field trips
  • Allow you the opportunity to network with experts and the global graduate engineering community
  • Encourage you to learn, travel and network while you develop as an engineer
  • Fast-track your development to your full potential

The GEDS offers:

  • A rewarding career in a dynamic, challenging environment
  • Innovative and technologically sophisticated project work
  • The opportunity to develop to your full potential
  • Continuous professional development as well as much more
