Job Title: Financial Controller – Educational Facility
Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Detailed Job Description

  • The Financial Controller (FC) will have operational responsibility for all financial matters of the institution covering finance, accounting, treasury, planning & budgeting etc.
  • The FC is expected to ensure adequacy of controls to safeguard the financial and other assets of the institution. A key focus of the role will be to ensure value for money with regards to the institution’s expenditure and investments while also working with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure effective cost management over the operations of the schools.
  • The FC will also be responsible for ensuring the finance staff across all locations have the necessary capacity to manage cost effectively, while also ensuring adherence to sound accounting policies and practices as well as rigorous internal control procedures.
  • The role will report to the Chief Executive Officer as well as the Treasurer of the Schools’ Governing Board.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the strategic direction of the School and provide high level, proactive financial expertise and inputs for both short term and long term financial planning.
  • Champion the translation of the School’s strategy into financial and business plans, projections and performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Articulate, develop and oversee strategies to ensure that the School’s funding requirements are proactively anticipated and met at a reasonable cost.
  • Oversee the formulation and implementation of strategies to ensure effective management and utilization of the School’s IT infrastructure especially the deployment of the ERP.
  • Ensure that controls in place are appropriate, working and in line with industry standards within the education sector.
  • Manage relationships internally and with external bodies, Tax and regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to ensure a fair and positive outlook for the school.
  • Prepare for and drive annual external audit, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, partnership with quality service providers and adherence to agreed deadlines.
  • Ensure the maintenance of an orderly accounting filing system and sustain a structure of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Prepare all periodic and final reports/statements in line with the Schools’ Governing Board’s requirements.
  • Oversee the internal budget processes to support the Trust Council in the annual budget process and monitoring of budgets during the year.
  • Lead the preparation of feasibility studies for new projects initiatives.
  • Prepare up to date structured cash flow management system for the school.
  • Oversee capital planning and modeling and optimization of investment income.
  • Oversee donor and endowment accounting, annual scholarship budgeting, spending rate and coordinates communications with Advancement.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • First degree in Accounting or related disciplines from a reputable institution, and must be a member of any of the recognized professional bodies, e.g. ICAN, ACCA, ACA or CPA.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience with middle to senior management responsibilities preferably in a well-established organization.
  • Demonstrated record of effective financial management, with experience in structured financial accounting systems and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local laws and practices.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills.
  • Strategic thinking skills.
  • Commercial acumen
  • Effective leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Title: Engineering/Facilities Manager
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Industry / Sector: Oil and Gas

Detailed Job Descriptions
The successful candidates will have overall responsibility of:

  • Formulating and facilitating the implementation of strategies and plans focused on managing the company’s facilities in the Head Office and all the retail outlets
  • Overseeing, as Project Manager, the construction of several new retail outlets (filling stations) being proposed by the company

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • First degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • Postgraduate degree/professional certifications in fields like facilities management, project management, construction management etc. will be relevant.
  • Membership of COREN may be an advantage.
  • Minimum of eight (8) to ten (12) years’ work experience in a similar position, of which at least two (2) must have been at a supervisory cadre.
  • Broad knowledge and hands-on experience of general facilities management.
  • In-depth maintenance management understanding of office complexes covering Lifts, Electricals, Mechanicals, etc.
  • Familiarity with structures, BOQs and building project management is significant.
  • Knowledge of Filling Stations construction (with good track record) is an added advantage.
  • Vendor Management, Sourcing and Supply chain experience is required.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Change agent with sound integrity and strong ethical values.
  • High sense of responsibility, accountability and dependability.
  • Balance managerial and facilities management skills set is key.
  • Not more than 40 years of age.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is not a must-have.

Job Title: General Manager – LASG Health Management Agency
Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Detailed Job Description

  • Reporting to the Agency’s Governing Board, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility to establish the Agency and deliver the state healthcare scheme in order to provide world-class health care coverage to residents of Lagos State within agreed objectives of time, cost and quality.
  • The General Manager shall serve for a term of four (4) years, renewable for one more term only.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and recommend a comprehensive strategy for the Agency and lead the articulation of plans to achieve it.
  • Deliver a credible, robust and sustainable enrolment strategy to ensure universal coverage in the State.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of relevant structures (process, internal controls, people and technology systems) to support the achievement of the Agency’s vision, goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate the delivery of high standard health care services for patients covered under the Agency’s health plans.
  • Maintain and build relations with other Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Governments, Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Mutual Health Association (MHAs), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), and other relevant bodies required to improve care pathways for patients.

Core Skills:

  • Experience in health insurance and managing healthcare insurance funds in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Wide knowledge of contract management, demand planning, budget/cost management, business case development, workforce planning and performance management.
  • Strong team player.
  • Politically savvy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First degree in Healthcare professional qualification or Numerate Sciences with a minimum of second class upper division grade.
  • Postgraduate degree in health financing or health economics.
  • Relevant professional qualification and membership of a healthcare and/or insurance professional body is an added advantage.
