Brunel Energy Nigeria is currently recruiting a Marine Lead Offshore Construction to oversee it’s activities in NigeriaMain Functions
Maintain/build/apply competency in specific area of Marine supervision and champion development of nationals.
• Identify and assist in resolving Marine Advisor resource gaps in Function
• Steward the development of core competencies in Marine discipline
• Administer personnel resources in Marine discipline
• Responsible for NPO marine vessel safety
• Provide expert Marine consultation to function and project teams
• Provide technical leadership for vulnerability and risk assessments
• Support Contractor Development Advisor in specific area of marine vessel contractors
• Coordinate interface with JVO Marine Dept, EMDC and NPO organizations
• Member of the Construction Planning Team (CPT)
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide Marine input to concept selection and contract strategy
• Supervise and coordinate Marine resources
• Support Construction Superintendant / Discipline Leads (On-Vessel Management)
• Participate in Risk Assessments and pre-mobilization reviews
• Provide expert Marine consultation to function and project teams
• Develop and maintain common (NPO, JVO Marine & EMDC) marine vessel procedures, processes, systems and tools, and specifications / vessel requirements
• Identify gaps / vulnerabilities in installation plans and recommend solutions/mitigations
• Develop, provide strategy / guidance and approve mooring / anchor pattern plans
• Assist PT’s with review of marine costs, vessel availability, schedules and specifications
• Provide field wide daily marine reporting to stakeholders
• Evaluate / nominate Marine subcontractors as required
• Provide functional input to concept screening and early project planning deliverables (mob/demob plan, cost, schedule, etc.)
• Ensure / monitor Contractor’s vessel operating MOC process
• Monitor / rectify non-compliance to vessel operating procedures (MPN, Class, etc.)
• Provide offshore field wide Marine support resources for NPO
• Secure marine warranty surveyor services
• Proactively manage NPO marine activities and vulnerabilities; develop and implement mitigation plans
• Identify and provide Functional and other Marine specialist resources to support installation teams.
• Support Contractor Development Advisor in specific area of marine vessel contractors
o Support (as requested) Nigerian Content initiatives
o Support Nigerian vessel contractor capacity assessment and improvement initiatives
• Maintain current knowledge of marine vessel contractor capabilities
• Develop / action initiatives to improve performance level of marine vessel inspections / mooring activities
Requirements • Degree – BS/MS in Nautical Science/Marine Transportation and/or BS/MS in Naval Architect, Engineering or equivalent
• License – Licensed Master of Towing, Anchor Handling and Supply Vessels of Any Gross Tons (License does not have to be active)
• High level of marine vessel knowledge, skill and experience
• 15-20 years experience to include Master of Towing, AHT and PSV Vessels, Shore Side Marine Operations in Management of Vessels, Knowledge of all IMO and Class Requirements
