MNet Nigeria seeks to appoint a dynamic and energetic individual to assume responsibility as Head of a New Yoruba and Hausa Channel. The position will be based at our offices in Lagos. The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of the target market and a proven track record in creating compelling Nigerian television content

OUTPUTS

Services and information which the individual must provide to external individuals or groups, or one another to accomplish the organisations mission and strategy:

Determine channels’ strategy in accordance with audience changes

• Secure appropriate content for the channels

• Take editorial responsibility for the channels in terms of scheduling

• Oversee monthly schedules which is produced based upon research, demographics, available audiences etc

• Create schedules that will maximize on deal terms

• Ensure channels perform within parameters of target market

• Implement channels’ strategy under direction of Channel Director

• Ensure that air time targets are met on a monthly basis

• Ensure Regulatory, company ethics and channel requirements are met

• Manage channels’ budget on a monthly basis

• Management and development of staff

• Ensure that new media elements are incorporated into programming

• Work closely with Marketing

• Set goals and monitor team’s performance around the goals

• Handling ad hoc information requests

• Ability and will to travel locally and internationally

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant marketing or communication degree

• Financial and legal experience an advantage

• At least 5 years of television experience

• Extensive Content and TV knowledge

• Content acquisition knowledge is an advantage

• Must speak and understand Yoruba and Hausa Fluently

• Computer literacy (i.e. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) compulsory

• Mindpack an advantage
