Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a non-profit organization that promotes socio-econornic development by supporting global health and economic initiatives in Nigeria. AHNi was established as an affiliate of FFI 360 Nigeria to sustain her achievements in strengthening indigenous organizational capacity in Nigeria.

We are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions that are contingent on award:

(A)  COMMUNICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

1.)  Director Communications And Knowledge Management

Location: Lagos

No. Positions: 1

The Role

The Director Communications & Knowledge Management will lead the overall communications strategy of AHNI Nigeria with the Nigerian government and other local and international decision makers, donors, partners and key stakeholders.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

BS/BA in Communication or related field, and 9-11 years relevant experience in international development programs with 7-9 years supervisory experience. MS/MA in Communication or related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience in international development programs, with 5-7 years supervisory experience. PhD, MD or equivalent degree with 5-7 years relevant experience in international development programs and 3-5 years of supervisory experience.

2.)  Documentation Officer

Location: Abuja Office, Lagos

No. Positions: 2

The Role

The position holder will provide support on technical and programmatic documentation; facilitate lessons learning and dissemination on all AFINI Nigeria public health interventions.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

Masters degree in journalism, health education, public health or international relations, plus 3 to 5 years of experience in writing and editing health materials. Or bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years experience. Experience mustreflect the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above. Fluency in English is required. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system, NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable. 

3.)  SBC Officer

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

No. Positions: 5

The Role

The SBC Office will coordinate all Abstinence/Be faithful/Other Prevention activities of the State program and guide the provision of technical assistance to sub-projects on their SBC activities.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

BS/BA in management, social sciences, public health or a related field with 5-7 years post national youth service corps experience in applied health policy and health systems analysis. Or MS/MA in management, social sciences, public health or a related field with 3-5 years post national youth service corps experience in applied health policy and health systems analysis. 4.)  Senior SBC Officer

Location:  Lagos

No. Positions: 1

The Role

The Senior Strategic Behavioral Change Officer will coordinate all Abstinence/Be faithful/Other Prevention activities of the project and will guide the provision of technical assistance to sub-projects on their SBC activities.

Minimum Recruitment Standard:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, sciences or behavioral sciences, with 7-9 years demonstrated ability to manage SBC activities including IEC-related activities and community mobilization in a large, complex health-related project. Or Masters degree in public health, sciences and the social sciences with 5-7 years demonstrated ability to manage SBC activities including IEC-related activities and community mobilization in a large, complex health-related project. Or Bachelors degree in public health, sciences and the social sciences with 3-5 years demonstrated ability to manage SBC activities including IEC-relatod activities and community mobilization in a large, complex health-related project. (B)  FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

5.)  Accountant

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

No. Positions: 8

The Role

Under the direction of the SFAO, the Accountant shall assume responsibility for accounting and ensure compliance with the contractual financial requirements of the project.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 3-5 years relevant experience. Or MS/MA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 1- 3 years relevant experience. Minimum of 1-3 years experience in accounting related to international development programs. Familiarity with donor-funded programs and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria is an advantage. CPA, ACA,, ICAN or recognized equivalent is an advantage.

6.)  Administrative Assistant

Location: Lagos

No. Positions: 5

The Role

The Administrative Assistant will support the Admin Officer and departmental staff in the provision of administrative and logistical services to AHNi staff

Minimun Requirement

University degree, recognized equivalent or FiND. Familiarity with administrative and secretarial skills is an advantage. Familiarity with international NGOs is an advantage. Experience with large complex organization preferred.

7.)  Administraive Officer

Location:  Lagos

No. Positions: 1

The Role

The Administrative Officer will provide administrative and logistical services to ARNI staff including the supervision of inventory storage, mail dispatch, and security maintenance of office premises, equipmentand facilities.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

University degree, recognized equivalent or FiND with minimum of 3-5 years administrative experience. Familiarity with international NGOs is an advantage. Experience with large complex organization preferred.

8.)  Cashier

Location:  Lagos

No. Positions: 1

The Role

Under the supervision of the SFAO, the cashier provides a variety of
administrative and clerical duties including support in the preparation of Petty
Cash Imprest Account for the country Office finance unit.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
BS/13A degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 0 – 1 year relevant experience. Experience in administering petty cash is an advantage

9.)  Contracts And Grants Officer

Location:  Lagos

The Role

The Contracts &Grants Officer shall provide support in the administration of contracts, grants, task orders and cooperative agreements in line with the requirements of the project

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 3-5 years relevant experience. Masters degree in Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 1- 3 years relevant experience. Good working knowledge of donor contracts and grants regulations is essential. 10.)  Driver

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

The Role

The driver shall provide a variety of transportation support to the project.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
Secondary school leaving certificates, apprentice certificate or any other equivalent certificates with a minimum of 1 year experience. Must have a trade test certificate and a valid driving license. Must have expert knowledge of driving rules and regulations. Experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage. Experience with large complex organization preferred.

11.) Expediter

Location: Lagos

The Role

The Expediter will facilitate the smooth travels by staff of IPs, Consultant and TDYers.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
HND/BSc degree in Business Administration, Social Science or related discipiine 2 years work experience with reputable agency as expediter. Skilled in computer word processing e.g.: (Word, Excel etc.)

12.)  Human Resources Officer

Location: Lagos

No. Positions: 2

The Role

The HR Officer will provide operational support to implement effective functional Human Resources (HR) processes for AHNI Nigeria in team functional areas, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, HRIS and training.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 3— 5 years of relevant experience. Or MS/MA degree In Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent, and 1-3 years relevant experience. Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required. 13.)  Information Technology Officer

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

The Role

The IT Officer will provide support and maintenance to AHNI Nigeria computerand network infrastructure to ensure stable operations.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
BS/BA degree in Engineering Information Technology; Computer Science or its recognized equivalent with 3 5 years post national youth service relevant experience. Or MS/MA Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or its recognized equivalent, and 1- 3 years post national youth service relevant experience. Candidate must possess Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications. Experience with a multi-site network (at least 3 sites) with a minimum of 200 users is highly irable.

14.)  Office Orderly

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

The Role

The office orderly will provide a variety of clerical and administrative duties for the assigned unit(s)/division.

15.)  Procurement Officer

Location: Lagos

The Role

The Procurement Officer will plan and implement systems and policies that guide all operations related to procuring supplies and services (in accordance with AHNI policy and donor policies) in support of all AUNT offices and projects at CO and field offices.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
ES/BA degree in relevant field with 3 – 5 years of relevant procurement experience. Or MS/MA degree in relevant field with 1- 3 years relevant procurement experience. 16.)  Receptionist

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

The Role

The receptionist will provide both secretarial and receptionist services by monitoring and operating computer work, typing, filing, receiving visitors, answering calls, opening and directing official mail.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

17.)  Security Guards

The Security Guard will provide a variety of security services to ensure the safety of life and property ofAHNi offices and staff.

18.)  Senior Finance And Administrative Officer

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

The Role

The SFAO will be responsible for accounting and finance and overall administration for AHNi Nigeria and will ensure compliance with the contractual requirements of the project with the objective of providing professional accountancy services consistent with generally accepted accounting principles.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 5. 7 years relevant experience. Or MS/MA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 3- 5 years relevant experience. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in office management and administration. CPA, ACA, ICAN, CIMA, CFE or any other relevant professional qualification is required. 19.)  Travel Officer

The Role

The Travel Officer will provide oversight and perform procedures related to fleet managementand domesticand international travel for AHNl Nigeria.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

(C.)  LABORATORY SERVICES DEPARTMENT


20.)  Director Laboratory Sevices

Location: Lagos

No. Positions: 1

The Role

The Director, Lab Services will provide leadership and technical oversight of all aspects of the AHNI laboratory services in Nigeria.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
MD/PhD in laboratory services or similar degree with 7 years relevant experience with international development programs which includes 5 years of relevant supervisory experience. Or Masters in laboratory services or similar degree with 9 years relevant experience with international development programs which includes 5 years relevant supervisory experience. Or 85/BA in laboratory services or similar degree with 11 years relevant experience with international development programs which includes 5 years of relevant supervisory experience. At least 3 in establishing and managing laboratory services in developing countries including CD4, HIV viral load and HIV early infant diagnosis, TB culture and TB drug sensitivity testing. Certification of license to practice as medical laboratory scientist or other relevant certification required. Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, international donor organizations, NGOs and CBOs is required.

21.)  Senior Technical Officer (Laborary Servces)

Location: Lagos

No. Positions: 1

The Role

The Senior Technical Officer (Laboratory Services) will provide technical expertise and assistance in implementing high quality laboratory services within the HIV care and treatment project in Nigeria, including laboratory capacity development at. project health facility sites.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

BSc in Laboratory sciences or related field with 7-9 years post national youth service experience and a minimum of 5 years experience in provision of laboratory support for WV/AIDS. Or Master degree in Laboratory sciences or related field with 5-7 years post national youth service experience and a minimum of S years experience in provision of laboratory support for H IV/AIDS. Experience in the management of laboratory services, particularly health facility-based services, including quality assurance systems, laboratory analysis, and interpretation and reporting techniques based on best practices, quality management practices and safe work practices. Knowledge of advanced laboratory procedures, diagnosis and management related to HIV/AIDS care and treatment is required with some experience in an international development organization preferred. Certification of license to practice as a medical laboratory scientist or other relevant certification is required. Expertise in hematology TB and blood safety issues will be an added advantage.

22.)  Techinical Officer (Laboratory Services)

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

The Role

With the Senior Technical Officer (Laboratory Services), the Technical Officer (Laboratory Services) will provide technical support and implement high quality laboratory services for AH NI Nigeria programs.

Minimum-Recruitment Standards:
BSc in Laboratory sciences or related field with 5-7 years post national youth service experience and a minimum of 3 years experience in provision of laboratory support for HJV/AIDS (Or Master degree in Laboratory sciences or related field with 3-5 years post national youth service experience and a minimum of 3 years experience in provision of laboratory support for HIV/AIDS). Knowledge of advanced laboratory procedures, diagnosis and management related to HIY/AIDS care and treatment is required with some experience in an international development area preferred. Certification of license to practice as a medical laboratory scientist or other relevant certification is required. Experience in Laboratory TB services is an advantage. (D.) MEDICAL SERVICES

23.)  Senior Gender Specialist

Location:  Lagos

No. Positions: 1

The Role

The gender focal point will advocate for greater attention to gender perspectives, providing the necessary rationales and advice on approaches to support gender mainstream ing throughout AHNi. S/he will be responsible for integrating gender sensitive approaches to technical assistance.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology or related discipline with 5-7 years working experience in gender integration at the national or international level. Expertise in gender analysis, strategic planning, and integrating gender balance into project design and management is required. Experience in dealing with issues of women’s rights and gender mainstreaming
within public institutions and/or international organizations required. Hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects is required. Preferably a recognized gender expert in the fIeld, with first-hand knowledge of gender experience working in Economic Development, Gender equality issues, Public Policy, or Social Development.

24.)  Senior Technical (Clinical Services)

Location: Lagos

The Role

The position holder will provide technical leadership and support to implement high quality care, treatment and support activities with primary focus on clinical management of H1V/AIDS including provision of Antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
MB.BS/MD/PHD or similar degree with 3 to 5 years of progressive relevant experience in clinical care with a sound understanding of Hi V/AIDS with provision of PMTCT and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource constrained settings. 25.)  Senior Technical Officer (TB/HIV)

The Role

The position holder will provide technical leadership and support to implement high quality care, treatment and support activities with primary focus on clinical managementof HIV/AIDS and TB.

The Role

The Senior Technical Officer (HCT/Referrals) will coordinate and provide technical leadership and expertise in developing and managing the referral network for HJV-related care, support and treatment services, support counseling and testing and community mobilization activities and work with support groups in the area of peer education in AHN 1 Nigeria programs.

27.)  Senior Technical Officer (MCH)

The Role

The Senior Technical Officer (MCH) will provide technical and programmatic leadership and support to JMNCH strategies and approaches related to implementation of high quality care and support activities. The primary responsibility is to provide project management and technical advice on maternal and child health, including, emergency neonatal and obstetric care, diarrhoeal disease, HIV/AIDS, nutrition and immunization activities.

The Role

Under the supervision of the Zonal Technical Officer (Medical Services), the Technical Officer will provide technical and programmatic support to implement high quality care and support activities with primary focus on clinical management of fly/AIDS, TB, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HI V/AIDS, reproductive health/family planning (RH/FP) and integrated medical services at the state and local government levels.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
MB.BS/MD/PHD or similar degree with I to 3 years relevant experience in clinical care with a sound understanding of l-IIV/AIDS with provision of PMTCT and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource constrained settings. 29.)  Technical Officer (HCT/Referrals)

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

The Role

The Technical Officer (HCT/Referrals) will provide technical leadership, expertise and counseling skills in working with local stakeholders in developing and managing a referral network. This network coordinates fly- related services and referrals between health facilities and community organizations and groups within a defined geographical area to meet the needs of persons living with HIV and those affected by HIV across the continuum of care. S/he will also coordinate and provide technical assistance for all HCT support activities as part of the program in the State.

30.)   Technical Officer (Medical Services)

The Role

The Technical Officer (Medical Services) will provide technical support at the facility level focusing on the clinical management of HIV/AIDS including the provision of antiretroviral drugs and PMTCT. S/he will provide day to day technical support related to clinical management of HIV/AIDS at the facility level guided by strategies and approaches related to the implementation program.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
MB.BS/MD/PHD with 3 years post national youth service experience in clinical care, with a minimum of 2 years experience in care and support for HIV/AJDS at the clinical level, a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS and PMTCT areas. Experience with ARV programs and familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs also required.


(E) MONITORING & EVALUATION DEPARTMENT

31.)  Database Officer

Location: Edo, Imo, FCT, Kano, Lagos

No. Positions: 6

The Role

The Database Officer will be responsible for the day to day operations of data processing. S/he is responsible for the planning, maintenance and development of ANNI databases. The database approach incorporates the following principles: (i)data remains consistent across the database; (ii)data is clearly defined; (iii)users access data concurrently, in a form that suits their needs; (iv)there is provision for data security and recovery control (all data is retrievable in an emergency). The application design includes web, desktop and mobile GIS applications.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

BS/BA degree in Engineering, Information Technology Computer Science or its recognized equivalent with S 7 years post national youth service relevant experience. Or MS/MA Engineering, information Technolog3 Computer Science or its recognized equivalent, and 3 5 years post national youth service relevant experience. 32.)  Senior Technical Officcer (Monitoring & Evaluation)

Location:  Lagos

The Role

The Technical Officer (Monitoring and Evaluation) is responsible for the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation for the AHNI. S/he will work with others at the Country Office and in the zonal offices and local implementing partners to ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are appropriate and meet the donor and projects M&E needs.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

MB.BS/MD/PHD or similar degree with 3 to 5 years relevant experience in project-level or state/national-level monitoring and evaluation system implementation for Global Health Initiatives. Or MPH or MS/MA in relevant degree with 5 to 7 years relevant experience in project-level or state/national-level monitoring and evaluation system implementation for Global Health Initiatives. 33.)  Technical Officer (Monitoring & Evaluation)

The Role

The Technical Officer (Monitoring and Evaluation), under the supervision of the Senior Technical Officer (M&E), is responsible for the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities. The M&E Officer will work with others in the state office and local implementing partners to ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are appropriate and meet the donor and project’s M&E needs. S/he will provide guidance on program/project monitoring and evaluation to the Government of Nigeria and donor reporting requirements.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
MPH or similar degree in monitoring and evaluation or related field (a Bachelor’s Degree will be considered with additional experience); 3-5 years experience in Monitoring and Evaluation in reproductive health or HIV/AIDS programs in developing courtiers; experience working with local partners, including NGOs and CBOs and knowledge of the local context essential, familiarity with donor funded programs preferred. 34.)  Program Officer

The Role

The Team Leader forms part of the strategic team that directs the operations of AHN1 Nigeria in assigned zones. The Role

The Senior Technical Officer (Sustainability, Community & Health Systems Strengthening) will provide technical leadership in the planning, implementation and monitoring of AHNI Nigeria’s community and health systems initiatives. S/he will provide technical support to implement high quality service and support activities with primary focus on care and support in the community. S/he will contribute to AHNI’s provision of technical assistance to the Ministry of Health at all levels to develop/revie implement and monitor health systems policies and strategies.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
BS/BA in management, social sciences, public health or a related field with 7-9 years post national youth service corps experience in applied health policy and health systems analysis. Or MS/MA in management, social sciences, public health or a related field with 5-7 years post national youth service corps experience in applied health policy and health systems analysis. Or MBBS/MD/PhD with 3-5 years post national youth service corps experience in applied health policy and health systems analysis. Minimum of 3 years experience working with PLHA and support groups of PLHA. Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field is an advantage. Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable. Proven practical experience in budget development and analysis is desirable.
