Position Details:

Job Summary 

  • The Project Manager has overall project responsibility
  • Work closely with the Project Sponsor to ensure project completion is timely, within
    budget, and meeting the quality criteria and requirements

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and leading the project team as well as recruiting project
    staff and consultants
  • Manage the co-ordination of consultants and working groups engaged on client
    project
  • Carry out detailed project planning and control including developing and maintaining
    a detailed project plan, and managing project deliverables in line with the project
    planRecord and manage project issues and escalate to Program Manager or Project
    Sponsor where necessary.
  • Resolve cross-functional issues at project level.
  • Manage project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary
  • Monitor and report on project progress and performance and provide status reports to
    the project sponsor
  • Managing project training within the defined budget
  •  Liaison with, and updates progress to, project steering board/senior management
  • Manage project evaluation and dissemination activities
  • Manage consultants input within the defined budget
  • Work closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs.
  • Define and manage the User Acceptance Testing programme.
  • Identify user training needs, devise and manage user training programmes
  • Obtain client sign off on close out documents on completion of a project
  • Ensure relevant project related documents are filed and well stored
  • Transfer project related documents to the Service Delivery support team on
    completion of a Project

  • Proper project accounting including time and expense reporting on each project
  • Frequency/ volume of repeat business
  • Actual vs. Planned:
    • Delivery targets
    • Cost targets
    • Quality targets
    • Number of projects
    • Resources management/ utilisation
  • Project deliverables target
  • Timeliness of project
  • Project milestones achievements
  • Effectiveness of controls
  • Number of complaint received

Competency and Skill Requirements

Academic Qualification

  • A good first degree from a reputable tertiary institution
  •  A project management professional qualification is an added advantage

Work Experience

  • 4 – 6 years experience with about 2 years in a Senior Project team member/ Project
    Manager role

Personal Skills

  • Good supervisory skills with the ability to drive a team of achieving results
  •  Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Methodical and able to maintain teams focus on an objective
  • Proven leadership and people development skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Good administrative skills
