The U.S. Embassy, is currently seeking to employ suitable and qualified candidates for the following vacant positions below:

Job Title: Warehouseman, FSN-02/FP-CC
Job Ref: A52765
Location: Lagos
Work Hours: Full-time; 48 hours/week

Basic Function of the Position

  • The incumbent performs manual supply duties in the Warehouse.
  • S/he serves as a Truck Assistant and Boat Assistant as directed by the Warehouse Foreman.

Position Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School Education is required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months prior Warehousing experience is required.
  • Level II(Limited knowledge) Speaking/Writing/Reading in English is required.
  • Must have good working knowledge
  • of procedures that apply to warehousing.
  • Knowledge of appropriate safety equipment is required.
  • Ability to perform moderately heavy work and make heavy lifts is required.

Job Title: Cultural Affairs Assistant – FSN-08/FP-6*

Basic Function of the Position

  • Incumbent is responsible for planning and executing cultural exchange programs for academics, youth, and women and other constituencies.
  • S/he is also the principal point of contact and coordinator for Post programming such as the Fulbright Junior Staff Development program, the Youth Exchange and Study program, speaker programs, nonacademic exchange programs, and programs connected with certain Education Advisor Center (EAC) initiatives.
  • Additionally, s/he plans and leads PAS Abuja special outreach programs targeting youth, interfaith leaders, and conflict resolution professionals, and with USG-Nigerian Alumni Associations, especially in northern Nigeria.

Position Requirements

Job Title: Ticket Assistant

Basic Function of the Position

  • The incumbent coordinates travel ticketing with other ticketing assistants: coordinates travel planning and itinerary development to ensure compliance with Government regulations and Post Management policies.
  • S/he negotiates with airlines regarding reservations, ticketing, billing, fares, benefits and waivers as appropriate.
  • Responsible for cross training other employees in the use of Amadeus and other applicable reservation software.
  • Position directs ticket reporting activities.
  • S/he maintains various travel records and files and reconciles billing information.

Position Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required. Vocational training in Aviation Travel, Ticketing and Reservations is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in an airline or General Services Agency (GSA) is required.
  • Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Writing/Reading in English is required. Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa is required. Language proficiency will be tested.
  • Knowledge of airline reservations procedures, airport codes, and classes of ticket is required. Good working knowledge of Customs, Immigration and Port Health authority’s procedures for navigation within the airport is required.
  • Must have strong writing skills to draft correspondence to Airlines, Embassies, and hotels.
  • Good computer skills (MS word and spreadsheet), other reservation software and IATA Certification are required. Must be able to use radio network, laptop and /or tablet.
