Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a non-profit organization that promotes socioeconomic development by supporting global health and economic initiatives in Nigeria. AHNi currently has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. Northeast Nigeria is currently, facing a growing humanitarian crisis with a vast number of Internally Displaced Persons in need of emergency assistance. These IDPs are living among host communities, lacking access to livelihoods and resources, ultimately leading to unprecedented levels of malnutrition and food insecurity. AHNI has been working in Nigeria for over 9 years and is now expanding activities in Borno state to respond to the IDP crisis.

FHI 360/AHNi is expanding its expertise by responding to this humanitarian crisis through integrated, Health and Protection interventions. To strengthen our operations and interventions in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the vacant position below:

 

Job Title: Assistant Technical Officer – Protection
Locations:
 Dikwa, Ngala & Banki, Borno
Contract Type: Fixed term

Job Description

  • Assistant Technical Officer – Protection will be in charge of organizing and implementing group psychosocial activities including skills and knowledge building activities through the safe space approach.
  • S/He will also be in charge of community outreach activities aimed at increasing community awareness in gender based violence and protection issues in the community.
  • Under the supervision of the Protection Coordinator, the Protection Officer will manage all activities related to SGBV/PSS at their assigned field site.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • BA/BS in Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Communication Health, or a similar degree with 1 to 2 years’ relevant experience in and psychosocial support with a sound understanding of protection in humanitarian relief settings.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian law enforcement systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

Job Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant
Locations:

Job Description

  • Candidates will assist in monitoring and evaluating program activities at the assigned field site.
  • Primary responsibilities include collecting information on project activities in each sector for proper documentation and reporting.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • BS/BA in Statistics, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Monitoring and Evaluation or in relevant degree with 1 – 3 years relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation or data management.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public health sector systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
  • A sound understanding of humanitarian assistance programming is desirable.

Job Title: Program Officer – Protection

Job Description

  • Program Officer-Protection will deputize the Protection Coordination in the functions of coordinating implementation of the Protection and specifically GBV sub-sector activities in the current implementation areas and new implementation sites.
  • She/ He will be required to provide technical support to field-based staff through regular site visits.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • BA/BS in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or a similar degree with 3-4 years relevant experience GBV programming including case management.
  • Possession of a Masters or a postgraduate degree in a related field is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian law enforcement systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

Job Title: Logistics/Procurement Assistant

Job Description

  • Logistics/Procurement Assistant under operational supervision from the Program Officer, will assist in the planning and implementation of systems and policies that guide all operations related to procuring supplies and services (in accordance with AHNi policy) in support of the state office and on the projects.
  • S/he will also assist in managing grants and contracting functions.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • BS/BA degree in relevant field with 3 – 5 years of relevant procurement experience.
  • Or MS/MA degree in relevant field with 1 – 3 years relevant procurement experience.
  • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded procurement rules and regulations (experience with USAID procurement a plus).

Job Title: Finance & Administrative Assistant

Job Description

  • Finance & Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the provision of accounting, administrative, and logistical support services to the state office and AHNi HQ as well.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in accounting related to international development programs.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded programs and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria is an advantage
  • Experience with administrative and secretarial skills Sound accounting and administrative skills
