Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a logistic company specialized in multimodal transport (Sea freight, Air Freight, Trucks) for a GM Operations.

Job description

The GM Operations must have a confirmed successful experience of operation management in the logistic/transport industry.

The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for coordination of all Air/Sea freight operation including import & export
• Planning, Controlling and Tracing the movement of Air, Sea and Trucking shipments
• Supervise the documentation department and coordinate custom clearance procedures to ensure prompt delivery and ensure that client trade compliance policy is followed strictly
• Maintain accurate and up to date filing system and ensure closure of file after delivery
• Supervise the new haulage department
• Analyze logistics data reports to identify & actualize cost savings and opportunities for all segments
• Review and analyze expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine need for increase in fares or tariffs, lead the expansion of existing schedules, or expansion of routes
• Coordinate general feedback to customers and sales team on the status of the shipments
• Interacting with suppliers, clients and other related agencies
• Managing, motivating and encouraging the Operations team towards achieving desired goal and maximum output
• To guide the sales team in driving successful businesses for Import and Export of shipment

Job Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Operation Manager with successful experience in similar position
• Must have broad understanding of transit and 4PL
• Experience of Africa, especially Nigeria would be much appreciate
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Good command over written and spoken English
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
• Ability to work in multicultural environment and under pressure
