Job Title: Assistant Manager Business Planning and Analytics

Primary Objective

  • The Assistant Manager Business Planning and Analytics is responsible for planning and managing all data analytics to rationalize business performance, thereby enabling management to make objective business decisions.
  • This role provides business support for the SVP Commercial and Chief Commercial Officer for financial and analytical support for the annual operating plan, annual revenue budget and periodic forecasts, revenue variance analysis, business case development, reporting, research, data analysis, metric/KPI development and tracking.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Forecast revenue on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Forecast new route revenue and profitability potential.
  • Recommend schedules for new markets based on commercial and competitive data.
  • Monitor route performance versus budget and report variances.
  • Develop and maintain senior management dashboards.
  • Treat all reporting requests.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Pricing
Division: Revenue Management & Pricing Department Commercial

Job Description

  • Pricing is a unit under the Revenue Management & Pricing division under the Commercial department.

The Role

  • The Assisstant Manager – Pricing works within the Revenue Management & Pricing department working for network wide pricing initiatives.
  • This role is responsible for the effective interface among Revenue Management, Network Planning and Network Sales with regards to new destinations and structural schedule/capacity changes, fare filing process and network optimization of traffic flows in order to maximize airline revenue.
  • The Manager – Online & Interline Pricing is responsible for offline pricing, implementing systems and processes to monitor offline revenue and system fares, as well as Interline/SPA and Code Share Pricing.

Other Objectives

  • The Manager – Online & Interline pricing is responsible for pricing and the management of the Revenue Management Pricing functions and will be working with the RM Management team to provide the leadership and change management necessary to realise Arik Air’s budget objective. An added necessity is to play a key role in the relationship between Sales and Revenue Management.
  • The Manager – Online & Interline pricing will ensure a consistent business approach across all markets while taking into consideration individual market specifics, and will implement processes to ensure competitive pricing with the necessary time-to-market.
  • She/he will work on cross functional integration of revenue management and pricing functions and will ensure key process interface with other head-office and outstation commercial departments are well-defined, consistent and support efficient and effective collaboration and decision making.
  • The Manager – Online & Interline pricing must have a solid understanding of commercial processes required by an international network carrier and has strong qualitative and quantitative skills. Excellent management skills and communications skills are essential.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Education to degree level.
  • 7 years of experience in an analytical position, 3 years of which in Pricing preferably from a network airline.
  • Previous experience in inside sales, network planning, corporate/agency contracts, capacity allocation, O&D Revenue Management system, pricing or reservation control.
  • Good attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of databases, SQL or other reporting/data extraction.
  • Knowledge of MIDT, PAXIS, PLP or QL2.
  • Knowledge of Fare Filing (ATPCO).

Other Additional Experiences

Job Title: AVP Revenue Management & Pricing

Job Descriptions

  • To head the development and implementation of revenue planning, revenue management and forecasting systems, to enable revenue generation controls and to infuse best practices in inventory management.
  • Provides the network with competitive pricing and distribution support, to generate revenues while maximizing yields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor company and competitor Fares, Unpublished fares, seasonal trends and also to monitor filed fares in various CRS’s and on line portals.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and analysis across other airlines and fare proposals to be submitted to company pricing for approval
  • Maintain complete database of all market fares types and ensure transparent distribution to all involved departments.
  • Using pricing/distribution databases and systems relevant to revenue management.
  • The ability to provide innovative and creative solutions through working with internal and external partners with appropriate speed and response.

  • Develop, implement and manage all Commercial activities of Arik Air Ltd in conjunction with the corporate plan and directives of the Board.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Overhaul, develop and implement the Board approved Commercial strategy for Arik Air Ltd.
  • In relation to long-haul markets:- coordinate closely with the COO of the contracted long-haul management service provider (i.e. Arik Air International) in ensuring that the Board approved long-haul strategy is clearly understood and successfully implemented across global long-haul stations.

Job Title: Assistant Vice President Marketing, Customer Loyalty & Customer Relations

Primary Objective

  • The Assistant VP Marketing, CL & CRM will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the Company’s marketing team, conceptualizing and implementing marketing strategy and achieving marketing targets.
  • Specific responsibilities include business and market research and planning; Strategic direction for promotion and advertising; Corporate marketing, partner/channel marketing, product marketing, and product management; Coordination with sales and directing the day-to-day activities of marketing staff.
  • The VP Marketing will drive the Company’s efforts to position itself as a visionary leader to achieve its revenue goals.
  • The VP will be responsible for Arik’s loyalty programs, partnerships and customer relations, strategic marketing plans to increase supplemental revenue.

Job Title: Manager, Revenue Management

Primary Objective

  • The Manager RM is responsible to achieve the maximization of the revenue and profitability of Arik by developing/implementing Revenue Management strategies in both Inventory & Distribution.
  • Manages Revenue Optimization, Revenue Integrity Units to optimize net position contribution for Arik, supporting the VP in developing the revenue strategy on all routes and markets across Arik Network.

Inventory Management and Route Optimisation

  • Understand the implications of external market dynamics and competitor activity on the business and react accordingly with appropriate development of Revenue management strategies.
  • Identify traffic flows and business opportunities to maximize revenue across routes.
  • Keep abreast of competitive environment and best practices to revitalize revenue management strategies and tactics.

Job Title: Senior Manager, Corporate Sales

Primary Objective

  • The Senior Manager Corporate Sales will develop the Corporate Sales Plan to achieve the related revenue target for the channel, achieving optimal results to secure corporate contracts, increasing the numbers year on year.
  • Ensure that corporate sales strategies are profitable and position the company for long-term growth within the corporate channels.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor the implementation of the corporate sales strategy in order to enhance existing and new revenue channels.
  • Achieve and exceed the set revenue targets for each financial year.
  • Ensure the sales and revenue opportunities are maximized by sourcing new corporate sales agreements that have a positive contribution towards revenue target set for the financial year.

Job Title: Senior Manager, Customer Loyalty & CRM

  • To lead and manage the team responsible for revamping and developing the FFP program.
  • The candidate will be responsible for defining the operational model for the FFP scheme including but not limited to how customers “Earn and Spend” Miles.
  • Additionally, the candidate will work with relevant teams to develop Arik’s CRM procedures to ensure customer relations.

Key Responsibilities
FFP Development and Delivery:

  • Review, revamp and develop the operational blueprint for Arik’s FFP scheme.
  • Manage the development of the FFP scheme’s benefits, features and rules, and continually improve these as required.
  • Plan the integration of all departmental operations to ensure an optimal return on resources.
  • Formulate the FFP scheme’s strategic plans for the short term and long term to fit in with the overall Commercial Strategy of Arik Air.
  • Set business objectives for the program, determine departmental processes and resource application for activities, with accountability for achieving these objectives:
    • Contribute to the selection process of a suitable and effective service providers and partners that will deliver project objectives of the FFP scheme.

  • University Graduate in a Marketing or Business-related field, studies in Loyalty/CRM desirable.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role with an airline.
  • Extensive experience in building/revamping and managing an airline’s frequent flyer program or a travel-related loyalty program (or a credit card/ financial service loyalty card).
  • Hands on experience developing and implementing targeted offer strategies like a deep understanding of customer segmentations and life cycle marketing.

Primary Objective

  • The purpose of this job is principally to provide legal advice and support to all Departments of the Company on a wide variety of corporate, commercial and aviation law related matters.
  • The job holder is required to advice the Management in order to safeguard the interest of Arik Air and to ensure that the rules and procedures of the Company are followed in all aspects of it activities, be it in procurement, HR, airline operations or corporate matters.
  • The post holder will have an overriding responsibility to ensure that Arik Air does not commit to any unfavorable obligations by providing legal advice and monitoring and controlling legal advice obtained from outside counsel.
  • The job holder has to ensure the well-being of Arik Air through compliance with national and international practices and needs to be able to represent and assert the Company’s position and requirements.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and draft constitutive instrument of Arik Air and its subsidiaries as well as the internal regulations.
  • Organise and prepare agendas, as well as take minutes of board meetings and annual general meetings (AGMs);
  • Revise Contracts submitted to Arik Air for signature to ensure that they are legally acceptable and favourable to Arik Air.
  • Ensure that the Legal Department appropriately handles registering of Arik Air Offices Overseas, once the approvals are received and look into the Labour Laws, Employment Contracts etc.
  • Prepare Contracts, Letter and Legal Documents for submission by Arik Air to other Parties.
  • Liaise between Arik Air and outside Lawyers at the Arik Air Corporate Office and outstations on all related legal matters including settlement of claims, litigation to defend legal actions on behalf of Arik Air and performing other legal work.
  • Undertake mission for consultation with outside bodes, international Organizations or Governmental Authorities.
  • Deal and liaise with other Department on such other legal matters such as: Aviation liabilities and limits of insurance;   Conditions of Carriage and their Updating Indemnity provisions to which Arik Air’s insurers have to be notified and agreed; Advises on questions of taxation in the various outstations to which Arik Air  Operates its services or has established offices.
  • Drafting and review of Specialized Airline related contracts such as Aircraft Purchase Agreements, Aircraft Finance Agreements, Aircraft Wet Lease Agreements, Maintenance Contracts, Engineering Contracts.

Person Specifications

  • A graduate of Law or related field.
  • Masters in Law (Desirable)
  • Membership of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (preferred).
  • Ability to take ownership of the role and work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be keen to innovate and be successful at formulating and implementing strategies and plans.
  • Previous board-level experience.
  • Sound, effective and enthusiastic communicator.
  • Previous experience as a company or board secretary would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 10 years work experience, preferably in the Aviation Industry of which at least 5 years must have been in heading the Legal Affairs.
  • Should have received specialized training in Aviation Law, Airline Contract Law, Aircraft Financing, Conflict of Law, Contract Negotiations, International Law and Legal Drafting.
