Within a few years the hospital expanded its scope of services and has become a leading private multispecialty hospital. Cedarcrest Hospitals Ltd currently has four hospitals located in Abuja, Lagos, Kainji and Jebba having over one hundred (100) bed capacity without patient camps in several other cities across Nigeria. Our services and facilities span several specialities and include emergency / trauma centre, radiology diagnostic centre, prosthetic manufacturing plant, oxygen manufacturing plant, modular surgical operating theatres, gastrointestinal endoscopy suite and several other facilities that make for a modern multispecialty hospital. Job Title: Nursing Officer II
Location: Abuja

Purpose:

• The Nursing Officer provides care for hospital patients as well as assists physicians in providing treatment in various medical settings.
• This includes but is not limited to recording and reporting symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
• He or She will also be tasked with maintaining accurate patient reports and medical histories, administering medication and treatments to patients while observing reactions and side effects.
• They also advise patients and their families on various health and conditions.

Key Performance Areas:

• Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
• Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.
• Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
• Recording patient vital signs and medical information.
• Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
• Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
• Administering intravenous medications.
• Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.
• Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
• Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
• Collaborate with physicians and other nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
• Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
• Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s prescriptions.
• Escalate patient observations and problems via approved channels
• Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
• Provide instant medical care in emergencies
• Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
• Support patient in their activities of daily living {ADL}

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements:

• RM / RN
• Bachelors of Nursing Science is added advantage
• Valid Licence – Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
• NYSC Certificate or Exemption Letter.

Profile:

• Experience in emergency room or intensive care
• Must have strong clinical skills and have the ability to precept employees.
• Effective communication skills for service area.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work efficiently under time constraints
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent organizational and ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Highly motivated team player willing to go the extra mile
