Job Title: Agricultural Data Sales Apprentice
Remuneration: ₦TBC/pcm

Description of Employer

Lagos Residents Only: This is an excellent opportunity for a young person to support the Sales Team in an Apprenticeship role. The Apprentice will learn to generate leads and produce lead-by-lead sales proposals.

By the end of the Apprenticeship placement, the Apprentice will be conversant in the selling of a variety of agricultural sectors data and in lead generation and client management.

Job Description

As an Agricultural Data Sales Apprentice, you will be working within the sales team of the business and alongside the Agricultural Economist, where you will learn specialised statistical-data sales to government, NGOs and other agricultural focused development bodies.

Duties and Responsibilities

As an Agricultural Data Sales Apprentice, you will learn to:

  • Identify leads; project partners and prospects.
  • Identify service areas of business opportunity on a lead-by-lead basis.
  • Produce proposals for each lead generated.
  • Produce standard 3rd parties service pricing.
  • Maintain CRM insight database.

Requirements

Ideal candidate will be someone in their 20’s who is professional, self-starting proactive in chasing leads and is, however not limited to:

  • good with speaking and writing English,
  • strong in communication and sales
  • highly customer-and service-oriented
  • IT Literate

Management and Supervision

You will be working under the guidance and supervision of an experienced member of staff. Apprentice9ja (Change Nigeria Project) will also support you throughout your Apprenticeship.

Working Week

40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9-5

Placement is for a fully-fledged Agricultural market and professional service firm offering Agro-based information and consulting service to all direct and indirect participants of the Agricultural sector.

Travel

As and when required.

Career Path and Progression

This is a 12-month apprenticeship which offers real career potential, to develop skills and gain valuable work experience as an Agricultural Data Sales Apprentice. There will be the opportunity to apply for live vacancies as they arise throughout the apprenticeship.

Job Title: Apprentice Accountant
Based in: Ogudu, Lagos, Nigeria
Duration: 12 months’ placement – permanent
Remuneration: ₦TBC/pcm

Placement Overview

Lagos Residents Only: A role as an Apprentice Accountant has opened in an agro-business service organisation based in Ogudu, Lagos.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager and will be expected to meet deadlines and at times work autonomously. The successful candidate will need to be passionate about pursuing a career in accounting, hardworking, focused and not afraid of putting in extra hours when required to ensure deadlines are met.

If you are looking to kick-start your career in Accountancy, then this could be the Apprenticeship for you.

Duties

Your duties and responsibilities will include and are not limited to:

  • support the Finance Manager,
  • assist with records by checking that documents are correctly input,
  • processing and paying invoices,
  • recording receipts and payments,
  • preparing and checking ledger balances and other monthly accounts,
  • handling company expenses,
  • updating computerised accounting systems,
  • provide support assistance to other team members,
  • preparing financial reports,
  • helping to plan budgets,
  • supporting the Finance Manager.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be newly graduated smart, friendly, and willing to be flexible in the role. As well as:

  • hold an Accounting Degree/HND (Essential),
  • have excellent record-keeping skills,
  • be computer literate,
  • have excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage own workload effectively,
  • and comfortable in their ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing at all levels within and outside of the organisation.

Working Week

40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm

Job Title: Apprentice Agricultural Economist

The Apprentice will learn to examine data and statistics to identify trends and make predictions for the agricultural market. By the end of the Apprenticeship placement, the Apprentice will be conversant in a variety of agricultural sectors and in performing research and analysis.

Job Description

Agricultural Economists employ principles and concepts of economics to learn more about the supply and demand of goods and services in the agricultural sector. This includes analysis of production, consumption, and distribution. Although an Agricultural Economist chooses an area of expertise; in your role as an Apprentice, you will be exposed to all areas, such as crop and livestock sciences, environmental economics, policy analysis, agribusiness, food safety, international trade, rural development, and marketing systems.

In your role, you will typically work with agricultural data and statistics in an office setting, and you will be required to travel as part of a research team to collect information.

Duties

As an Apprentice Agricultural Economists, you will learn to examine data to determine patterns and trends in economic activity. You will also conduct research to collect data and market samples. You will learn how to use the predictions obtained from your research to inform, influence, and improve the business decisions of clients and agricultural organisations.

Person Specification

  • Ideal client will be someone in their 20’s who is willing to be flexible in the role with:
  • Educated to Degree Agriculture Major Favourable
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage own workload effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent skills in research and reporting on findings
  • Able to analyse and interpret statistical information
