Job Title: Finance Assistants (Associates)

About the role

The post holder will support Christian Aid financial management functions at the field offices and ensure that adequate financial records are kept at field offices and payment requests are processed on a timely basis. The finance associates will be responsible for preparing financial documentation including cheques, petty cash reimbursement, petty cash advances and all staff floats. The role is required to be familiar with Christian Aid and donor financial compliance requirements and to ensure that these are operationalised in the field office they are responsible for.

About you

You must possess a degree in Finance/ Accounting or its equivalent with 2 to 3 years experience in a similar role. You must have experience working with institutional donors particularly ECHO.   You must have excellent skill in using excel spread sheet, word processing packages and other accounting reporting tools preferably SUN.

Job Title: Finance Coordinator

About the role

The post holder will lead in the financial management and reporting for Christian Aid’s projects in Kaduna, Plateau and Benue States. The role will ensure that all financial transactions incurred on the project are in line with CA and donor requirements. The role is responsible for reviewing all costs incurred at the field offices and posting all transactions into CA Accounting software. The role will also ensure that donor reports are prepared and shared with all stakeholders within the organisation in line with the Finance Team Reporting timetable. This role will directly line manage 3 finance associates and will ensure that financial procedures and controls at field office are adhered to and that grant conditions of donors relating to the projects are complied with.

About you

You must have a 1st degree in Finance or Accounting and be a member of a Certified Accounting body (ACCA or ICAN) with 5 to 6 years experience in similar role. You must have strong experience in financial reporting, grant management for institutional donors particularly ECHO. You should have experience preparing monthly financial reports using accounting softwares such as SUN. Progressive experience working in a finance environment within an INGO (preferable) or NGO is essential.

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning Assistants

About the role

The post holder will assist the MEAL unit in regular data collections through implementing partners/volunteers and ensure quality of the data by random verifications and validation. S/he will record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe and accessible way. Provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to the relevant Program Officers and Partners. Support Program Officers and partners in conducting of field activities and adheres to CA’s monitoring and evaluation system.  Participate actively in programme planning processes. The role holder will upload key reports to the Source (intranet) and assist the MEAL unit in designing, coordinating and conducting project evaluations (baseline, mid-term and end-line). S/he will support the team in developing quarterly/annual organisational reports and work collaboratively with different programmes for strengthening, integration and cross-learning in programmes.

About you

You must have a degree in Statistics or any of the Social Sciences and a sound knowledge of office programmes including word, outlook, power point and excel. Knowledge of relevant database systems and data management tools (such as CS Pro, DHIS, NHMIS) is essential. You are required to have experience of monitoring and evaluation, project/programme-cycle management approaches and tools – including participatory planning. You should understand reporting requirements of institutional donors such as Global Fund, EU, DFID and USAID.  The post holder is expected to have excellent report writing skills and communication skill.

Job Title: Programme Officers- Disaster Management & Peace building

About the role

The post holder will be responsible for raising Christian Aid’s profile through effective content management of the Building Early Improved Early Warning Early Response to Strengthen Disaster Preparedness in Nigeria’s Middle Belt and Northern Regions. To contribute to the implementation of Christian Aid Resilience Strategy while supporting the team on concrete steps in the implementation of the strategy within the wider country programmes. To contribute to the representation and brand of Christian Aid in country, engage with and promote communications and fundraising, including institutional donors. The role holder will be directly working with partners, conducting technical trainings, managing partnership and networking with key stakeholders.

About you

You are required to have a degree in any of the Social Sciences with at least 3 years progressive experience in a similar role including administration.  Knowledge of political and religious context, especially around peace building and conflict in Northern Nigeria is vital for this role. You should understand advocacy, campaigning, lobbying and network building. You should have good facilitation skills and experience of developing partner capacity. You must understand gender and other forms of exclusion.
