Job Purpose

  • This job is responsible for providing technical assistance to staff and teaching assistants concerning experimental preparations and procedures.
  • Also, ensures compliance with health and safety standards of laboratory operations. In the absence of the Lab Technologist, he/she shall act.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares adequate quantity and quality of chemicals for experiments in a timely manner.
  • Prepares, issues and replaces laboratory equipment.
  • Installs, maintains, and issues student drawers.
  • Responds to technical questions, questions related to stock solutions, and use of equipment to staff and teaching assistants.

Job Title: Executive Officer

Job Purpose

  • The role is responsible for proactively and independently managing relationships with academic and professional staff from faculties and all other areas of the University.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • The incumbent will ensure the provision of high level and comprehensive administrative and operational support for the Coordinators of the University Core subjects, the Core Curriculum Committee and the Pro Vice – Chancellor (Academic) as required.
  • The incumbent is required to have established, professional judgment skills and the ability to be an effective public interface for the University Core. Operating with a high degree of independence in a fast paced environment, the Core Executive Officer is required be exceedingly well organised, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.

Job purpose

  • The staff nurse is responsible for assisting in the assessment and implementation of patient care needs and ensure all patients are treated in a professional manner and that confidentiality is adhered to. He/she will also provide skilled assistance without direct supervision to demonstrate procedures to the staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Job Purpose

  • The role will be responsible for providing efficient and effective frontline services by undertaking customer service duties at the Librarian circulation desk and customer service centre, general administrative support and assisting with Library programs.
  • He/she will also assist in the management of stock (e.g. shelving library books, ordering consumables, etc.) as required.

Main duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service:

  • Provide a high-level customer service to members and visitors to the library and Customer Service Centre.

Library Operations:

  • Maintain library records and circulation of library material.

Specialised Library Services:

Job Purpose

  • This Librarian is a Principal Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer of the University Library.
  • He/she is responsible for the administration of the University Library and co-ordination of all Library services in the University and its campuses, colleges, faculties, schools departments, institutes and other teaching or research units.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To contribute to the development of Library strategy and policies as a member of the Library Senior Management Team.
  • To give a lead in the formulation of Library strategy to ensure that it is tailored to the College’s requirements in both teaching and research and ensure that the Library’s strategic aims for services are developed, implemented, and delivered fully and equitably across the Colleges.
  • To work closely with the Director of Library Services representing and advocating the College user perspective in order to influence the Library’s decision-making and activities.
