A fast-growing internet media company is looking for young, talented, dynamic and self-motivated writers and editors to fill the vacant position of:

Job Title: Web Content Developers and Content Editors

Job Location: Enugu Nigeria

Starting Salary Range: #85,000 – #110,000 per month

Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in English Language, Mass Communication, Journalism, Internet Media or its equivalent. (Applications from candidates without these specified academic degrees but who have sound writing skills will also be considered)

Previous media/writing experience will be an advantage.

Specifically for the for the editor position: If we discover that you pay meticulous attention to details, and have an eagle eye when it comes to grammar, spelling, and consistency of style as a writer, you’ll be considered for editor position

Description

The website content developer or The editor will be responsible for creating and editing new contents or articles for our sites. The writer will work under the editor’s supervision to produce articles that readers would love. Whether it is a list of famous film directors in Hollywood or Biography of John Mikel Obi, ideal candidates should have a strong background, good command, and knowledge of English Language. He or she should have a working knowledge of journalistic standards and best practices, grammar, sourcing, and fact-checking to ensure that website’s standards are maintained. Experience in writing SEO is a plus.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Creating, developing and managing content (articles) for the organisation’s websites (requires working with content management software such as WordPress)
• Reviewing content to ensure compliance with brand and quality standards

• Preparing, rewriting and editing content copy to improve readability
• Correcting spelling and grammatical errors.
• Meet all deadlines.
• Checking sources to make sure work is original and the facts are right.
• The company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.

Required Skills

• An excellent command of written English language.
• Must be able to produce a well articulated, coherent, and factual article free from grammatical errors within stipulated timeframe.

• Experience in content publishing, writing, editing is also an advantage

Writers will be compensated for their work on a per-article basis, based on the length of assignment and level of research required.
