Job Title: Assistant Chef
Location: Lagos
Description
- Menu Planning and Development: Creating and updating menus, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and cost considerations.
- Food Preparation: Preparing ingredients by washing, chopping, and seasoning. Cooking dishes according to recipes, and presenting them attractively.
- Quality Control: Ensuring that all food served meets the restaurant’s standards for quality, taste, and presentation.
- Supervising Kitchen Staff: Managing kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen workers. Assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring and managing inventory of ingredients and supplies. Ordering new stock as needed and minimizing waste.
- Safety and Sanitation: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen. Adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Training and Development: Training new kitchen staff and providing ongoing education and development for the team.
- Budget Management: Managing the kitchen budget, including food costs, labor costs, and other expenses. Working to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
