Job Title: Hydro Sales Manager – West Africa

Role Summary/Purpose

  • The Hydro Service Sales Manager will be responsible for driving profitable growth in the Hydro Nigeria and neighboring countries markets (Francophone West Africa) through increasing sales of GE’s world class Hydro retrofit/services solutions.
  • The successful candidate will continue to develop existing customer relationships as well as develop new clients and coordinate with the Hydro Business support and Central functions and global Hydro sales organization.

Essential Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will manage the local activities linked to the projects under execution in coordination of the Service Product Lines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Accountable for contributing to commercial growth and achieving financing target within Nigeria and Western African countries
  • Leads the commercial activity of retrofit and service opportunities for the Hydro Business within the countries from opportunity identification and pre-positioning
  • Co-leads with Commercial Operation team the selection of opportunities
  • Ensure active positioning of GE solutions on service and retrofit opportunities by understanding customer needs, value drivers and decision-making process
  • Develop new retrofit and service opportunities by working pro-actively with customer to develop value proposition and GE solutions
  • Manage relationship with key hydro customers
  • Cooperates with Region Sales leader to drive customer intimacy with all keys decision makers and influencers, mapping and strategy development for a given Customer.
  • Develops co-creation of new customer oriented solutions to meet customer needs
  • Accountable for quarterly commercial performance ( Budget vs Forecast vs actual) and pacing
  • Drives a culture of opportunity visibility, accountability and data accuracy
  • Works with absolute integrity and full adherence to the Ethics and Compliance rules
  • Contributes to focused campaigns on broader Market opportunities, to overall profitable growth strategy
  • Manage the onshore portions of the projects including any local activities to be followed in a view to successfully executing them and satisfying our customers.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree / Business school/ Engineering
  • Experience Above 10 years of Sales/Commercial experiences of which at least 5 in the power generation industry in the designated regional market place.
  • Strong track record of sales result and sales leadership results.
  • A first experience in project manager would be highly appreciated as well.

  • Experience and success in setting commercial vision and results oriented
  • Ability to influence cross functional Business teams to drive sales strategy and growth in the country
  • Proven successes in managing complex sales projects and implement appropriate partnerships with stakeholders inside and outside the country

  • GE launches third edition of GE Lagos Garage Skills Training Program for Entrepreneurs in Lagos, Nigeria. The third edition of General Electric’s (GE) advanced manufacturing skills training program for entrepreneurs is scheduled to take off in Lagos, Nigeria on the 30th of May, 2017.
  • The GE Lagos Garage is a four-week program dedicated to accelerating the impact of Nigeria’s most promising entrepreneurs, especially in advanced manufacturing.
  • This program is designed for hardware entrepreneurs that have an existing product or idea and want to learn how to apply cutting-edge manufacturing technology like 3D printing to their product development process.
  • The Garage Entrepreneurship program’s select participants will directly interact with the latest manufacturing technologies – including 3D printers and laser cutters – that enable innovation through rapid prototyping, which will transform Nigerian industries, particularly, SMEs in creating value.
  • The Garage also provides access to advanced hardware and Nigeria’s extensive mentorship network, supporting entrepreneurial spirit with an aim to spark ideas that drive growth across multiple sectors of the economy.
  • GE created the Garages program in 2012 to reinvigorate America’s interest in invention, innovation and manufacturing. In 2014, Garages went global with four weeks of intensive workshops at GE’s offices in Lagos, Nigeria, using the latest in advanced manufacturing technologies: 3D printers, CNC mills and laser cutters.
  • In December 2016, GE Nigeria lauched a permanent installation of the Lagos Garage, a hub for training, strategy development, advanced manufacturing-based innovation and collaboration. So far, two cohorts of 68 entrepreneurs have gone through the program with over $1m in funding secured.
  • In 2017, GE continues the program dedicated to accelerating the impact of Nigeria’s most promising entrepreneurs.
