Job Title: Restaurant Accountant

Position Overview

• The Accountant for Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) is responsible for managing financial transactions, reporting, and analysis for the QSR establishment.
• This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring accurate financial records, adherence to financial regulations, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions Management:

• Record all financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly.
• Maintain proper documentation of financial records and transactions.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Generate financial reports for management review and decision-making.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.

Cash Flow Management:

• Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure sufficient funds for operations.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and projections to support cash management decisions.
• Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize risks.

Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.

Financial Analysis and Insights:

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
• Support decision-making processes by providing accurate and timely financial information.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the restaurant or retail industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of financial reporting standards.
• CPA certification or relevant professional qualification is advantageous.
• Proximity to Lagos Island is key.

Salary Range

• N150,000 – N170,000 monthly.
