Karsto Global Resources Limited – A wholly owned Nigerian company, established with a view to rendering quality onshore/offshore, project management consultancy, construction and construction management, inspection, repair and maintenance, supply chain and inventory management and rope access to the oil and gas industry in the West African sub region.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Rigger
Job Reference Code: KGR/CO/RG/03/18
Location: Akwa Ibom (Onshore/Offshore)
Job Type: Contract
Responsibilities/Summary of Functions

  • Align, level, and anchor machinery.
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chainfalls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • Set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment, ships, or theatrical sets.
  • Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
  • Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts
  • Report all incidents, accidents and near misses to the HSE Coordinator.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when required.
  • Attend daily toolbox meetings.
  • Attend safety meetings when programmed.
  • Stop any work that can potentially harm people, assets or the environment.
  • Undertake procedure qualification test.
  • And any other duties that may be required

Requirements/Qualification

  • Experience: 5 years
  • Minimum of WASSCE
  • Valid SAS&HUET or BOSIET
  • Valid DPR Offshore Safety Permit (OSP)

 

Job Title: Fitter
Job Reference Code: KGR/CO/FT/03/18
Location: Akwa Ibom (Onshore/Offshore)

Responsibilities/Summary of Functions

  • Cut and fit pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches and pipe and benders.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications by welding and brazing joints.
  • Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and welding.
  • Lay out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints.
  • Plan with Site Supervisor for any pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
  • Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
  • Cut and bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, and mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand and power tools.
  • Report all incidents, accidents and near misses to the HSE Coordinator.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when required.
  • Attend daily toolbox meetings.
  • Attend safety meetings when programmed.
  • Stop any work that can potentially harm people, assets or the environment.
  • Undertake procedure qualification test.
  • And any other duties that may be required.
