FRAUDULENT ELECTION MALPRACTICES IN IMO STATE OF NIGERIA
1. In Abakuru, in Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta Local Government Area, polling station for the election of the President of Nigeria, one Chidi Nwaneshi, a Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Polling agent challenged the Presiding officer who gave several ballots to an individual PDP (current President Goodluck Jonathan’s ruling party) voter and seized several ballots issued to that individual as evidence was arrested (rather than the culprit)on the orders of the PDP Government appointed Local Government Area Chairman and detained in prison and refused bail despite all entreaties by CPC state party officials.
The Inspector General of Police has been informed of this incident. The INEC Chairman Professor Jega has also been informed of this incident yet the Imo State Police Command refused to grant him bail in spite of the evidence insisting that he should spend the night in jail in spite of the evidence of the multiple ballots he retrieved from the PDP voter.
This sort of intimidation naturally will make it difficult for any party agent to challenge malpractices rampant at various polling stations.
2. In another incident, at Okwu Emeke, in Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government area, a young lady dressed in police uniform stood squarely by the voting table and directed women and the old to thumb-print beside the PDP logo. Her picture was captured by a camera and when the Commissioner of Police was informed of the incident, he gave instructions that the Lady’s name and badge number should be obtained. When the challenger came back to obtain her name and badge number, she ran away protected by two men who shielded her escape.

The presidential election in Ibesikpo Asutan in Akwa Ibom state was a huge success. I have not seen any election that is so peaceful, and it was not just peaceful but it was free and fair, I want to thank the security agents for their support…Thank God and God bless our country Nigeria!

The turn out voters in the Ijaw riverine areas of Ofunama, Nikoroma and Kalodi, all in Ovia North East Local govt in Edo state was impressive; even the heavy downpour could not prevent voters to come for the 9am acreditation. Ex-millants also came out enmass to vote…despite the low turnout of security men, there was law and order. There was no record of ballot snatching nor rigging in the areas.

OVER HERE AT OJODU, LAGOS STATE, VOTING STARTED SOME MINUTES TO 1.00 PM AFTER THE LONG QUEUE OF PEOPLE WAITING FOR ACCREDITATION WERE ALL ACCREDITED. IT WAS QUITE PEACEFUL AS AT THE TIME I VOTED AND I UNDERSTAND THE ATMOSPHERE IS STILL PEACEFUL EVEN AT THE MOMENT. WE ARE GRATEFUL TO GOD THAT FOR THE FIRST TIME NIGERIANS CAN CONFIDENTLY VOTE FOR CANDIDATES OF THEIR CHOICE WITHOUT INTIMIDATION.

I voted at about 12:15pm. Election in the polling units in my area- Warri is very peaceful and orderly. I want to give kudos to INEC for a good job.

The turnout has been great , a lot of people are becoming aware of what it means to vote. The INEC officials are to be commended for punctuality ,as at 11 am accreditation has been completed in the unit where I voted. I am really glad I voted and I pray the choice I have made will live up to my expectation.

In Asa LG, confusion was created during voting the exercise by a gang of boys with a bus(commercial hummer) with no harm done to INEC material and personnel at Efue LGEA Schl. (Kw/01/07/001) .
Although the situation was calmed by the security agents. The gang’s motive might be to scare people away. This made other major oppositions to boycot the remaining process. Though, PDP won with a landslide.

Quite a handful of christians in the north were severely persecuted when trying to cast their votes for Goodluck. Some were killed. Some were maimed. Some were rendered homeless. Their slogan is’Vote Goodluck, vote hypocrites’ , this is absurd. And I’m sad. The northerners are….
