We are recruiting to to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Coordinator (M/F)
Location:
 Maiduguri, Borno

Job Description
Under the responsibility of the general coordinator, you will support the management of an approximate 3 million euros yearly budget involving two institutional donors (OFDA and GMOFA) funding the Nigeria mission.

More specifically, your responsibilities are to:

  • Develop and implement the financial procedures and guidelines related to the mission
  • Ensure internal financial procedures, systems, policies and controls are applied and complied with throughout the operations by all staff
  • Prepare financial reports and donor budgets
  • Monitor overall budget consumption according to donors’ constraints and update regularly the Budget Follow Up tool
  • Supervise directly three national staff and have a functional link with the logistician/administrator based in Damboa
  • Supervise the overall recruitment and training of the finance department staffs
  • Ensure MdM compliance with tax laws and if necessary, improve the procedures and rules
  • Ensure MdM Salary Payments are in line with Nigerian Labour and are completed in an accurate and timely manner, in coordination with the HR department
  • Prepare, organise and supervise audits at field level, with the support of the headquarter
  • Ensure a harmonized financial organization and ensure accurate documentation of all financial transactions
  • Liaise with INGO finance directors incountry and actively participate in interagency coordination meetings
  • Provide strong oversight and capacity building to local partner activities
  • Ensure the proper earchiving of the partners financial reports and accountancy
  • Be responsible for the cash provision and safe management between the different programs/bases
  • Ensure that payments are made in a timely and secure manner
  • Be responsible for the soft accountancy of all sites for both accounting and donor allocation
  • Coordinate the closure of monthly accountancy in coordination with the HQ
  • Contribute to the country monthly report on the financial part

Profile

  • Experience of 4 – 5 years minimum in a similar position
  • Experience in multi donors’ budgets and multicountries grants
  • Training and capacity building experience
  • Excellent Excel skills, knowledge of Saga is an asset
  • Ability to work under a minimum of supervision
  • Capacity to take initiatives, organizational skills, rigor
  • Ability to classify and to manage priorities
  • Listening and diplomacy skills
  • Ability to work in unstable and volatile context
  • Languages: fluent English

Condition of Employment

  • 2,820 Euros gross monthly salary on 13 months

Job Title: Medical Coordinator (M/F)
Location
: Maiduguri, Borno

Description

  • Under the direct supervision of the general coordinator, you guarantee that the medical activities implemented through the project are in line with MdM’s strategy, policies and principles. You are responsible of every medical aspect of the program.

More specifically, your responsibilities are to:

  • Supervise the implementation of MdM’s activities, proactively monitoring the context and health response, subsequently sharing any proposition in case of context change
  • Lead the development of the general strategy on medical activities with the general coordinator, HQ referent and the team
  • React to any change by adapting the program if necessary and conduct rapid health assessments when requested
  • Participate to the monitoring on a regular basis and set up corrective measures in case of need
  • Supervise and provide support to the medical team
  • Be responsible for ensuring the team capacity building
  • Support and supervise the health programme coordinator
  • Supervise the data base officer to ensure that all data from the field reaches in a timely manner
  • Identify needs of medical staff, draft job profiles and validate recruitment from a technical point of view
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals with directly supervised staff (quarterly basis)
  • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the medical purchase process in close collaboration with the logistics coordinator
  • Ensure the supervision of the pharmacy
  • Participate to the different MdM meetings and to external medical meetings especially on health and nutrition Cluster
  • Lead on liaison with the MoH authorities and with health actors
  • Be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the medical programme
  • Analyse the medical data received on a weekly basis and submit weekly reports
  • Participate in the writing of donor’s activity reports and proposals.

Requirements

  • Medical doctor, Nurse or Midwife diploma
  • Significant experience in public health and/or project coordination
  • Experience in humanitarian response
  • Experience in working within the cluster system
  • Knowledge in primary health care and sexual reproductive health
  • Experience in supervising health promotion activities
  • Experience in working with local authorities, partners
  • Ability to manage a multinational team
  • Reactivity, anticipation, adaptability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good writing, computer and communication skills
  • Capacity to work and to live in tense conditions
  • Languages: fluent English is required

Job Title: Health Program Coordinator
Location:
 Maiduguri, Borno

Description of Post

  • Under the direct supervision of the medical coordinator, you are responsible for the implementation of quality services in the field.
  • You manage the operational and technical aspects of the implementation of primary health care and sexual and reproductive health services, as well as the CMAM programme in the different sites.

More Specifically, Your Responsibilities
Provide technical support to clinic staff:

  • Ensure use and respect of medical protocols through observation and supervision of medical and paramedics staff
  • Conduct specific trainings if needed
  • Plan and implement thematic capacity building or specific trainings according to the identified needs
  • Ensure the implementation onthejob trainings sessions by medical technical advisors towards health national staff
  • Participate in establishing/improving referral system
  • Supervise drugs stock management in clinics implementing MdM pharmaceutical policies and closely liaising with the pharmacist
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals with directly supervised staff (quarterly basis)

Manage the team of medical supervisors and technical advisors/trainers:

  • Organize the weekly schedule of clinic teams to ensure the smooth running of the activities
  • Ensure that medical and paramedics staff of clinics respect their assigned tasks
  • Participate in recruitment process of clinic staff and other medical staff
  • Ensure field teams are trained on and do follow MdM procedures relating to pharmaceuticals and data collection

Lead on field level coordination:

  • Ensure good coordination of field teams with other actors in the same area
  • On request of medical coordinator, support/lead partnership development with other health actors

Participate in reporting activities and communication:

  • Prepare a weekly activity report
  • Compile epidemiological reports for inclusion in medical reports or any other relevant reports
  • Participate in MdM internal meetings and attend to external medical meetings upon request

Profile

  • Doctor or nurse with Master’s Degree in relief/development or related field
  • Experience with an international NGO working in emergency contexts, managing programmes, within the health sector.
  • Strong leadership skills and a supportive management style
  • Diplomacy, negotiation and networking skills.
  • Ability to work under a minimum of supervision
  • Willing to live and work in challenging conditions
  • Capacity to take initiatives, strong problem solving and organisational skills in day to day and crisis situations
  • Team spirit
  • Capacity to work and to live in tense conditions
