MTN, Africa’s leading telecommunication network is recruiting for OSS Engineer. The candidate will directly report to the Team Lead HLS.

The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. Electrical/Electronics (Telecommunications) and a minimum of 4 years hands-on experience in scripting and programming in Telecommunications/IT environment. SUN certification is desirable.

Job Description:

• Integration of all new network elements into OSS
• Keeping system logs and performing backups for the OSS
• Perform the necessary changes in systems set-up in OSS
• Perform software update on the OSS
• Carry out preventive/routine maintenance on OSS
• Investigating and identifying reasons for abnormal network conditions related to OSS
• Performing corrective actions to faults on the OSS platforms
• Monitoring the status and performance of the network elements interfacing with the OSS platforms
• Maintain databases where standard data on OSS is kept
• Develop and maintain tools, applications and scripts to increase the effectiveness of the OSS platforms
• Provide back-end and front-end support to OSS users
