Job Title: Java Backend Engineer
Location: Gbagada, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary:

• We are looking for well-tested Java Engineers who know their onions and are ready to craft great solutions.
• As a Java Backend Engineer at Pearlsoft, you will have exposure to the backend APIs and services that sit at the core of the various enterprise solutions. You will be part of a team architecting our platform to improve our path to microservices. Java, SpringBoot, JavaScript, ReactJs, NoSQL, serverless architectures, microservices, auto-scaling and auto-recovery, AWS EC2, ECS Fargate, Kubernetes, Docker, Oracle DB, MongoDB – these are a few of the state-of-the-art techs you will be working with.

Responsibilities:
Some of your responsibilities at Pearlsoft include (but are not limited to):

• You will work in a team creating and maintaining source code for enterprise
• applications primarily written in Java
• Building awesome APIs as well as sleek, beautiful front-end client experiences
• Building reliable micro-services and serverless architectures
• Iterating and optimizing products based on feedback and data analysis
• Taking ownership of your work/project by designing, building, maintaining, iterating and supporting new features and new products.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of 3 years experience in developing enterprise applications in Java & SpringBoot
• Proven expertise and professional experience databases (SQL, NoSQL, Oracle)
• Knowledge of micro-service oriented architectures (e.g Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proven expertise with cloud providers (AWS EC2, EKS, nginx, linux, Fargate etc) is a plus
• Knowledge of distributed code versioning systems such as Git
• Knowledge of automated test (jUnit, Selenium, Jenkins) and CI/CD
• Experience with design patterns and SOLID principles
• Experience with data structure and algorithm
• Knowledge of Agile methods (using Jira) required to deliver on a software feature/project.
