actionActionAid Nigeria (AAN) is one of ActionAid Country Programmes around the world. ActionAid is an International Non-Governmental organization registered in The Netherlands and headquartered in Johannesburg South Africa. ActionAid International works in 52 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. 22 of these country programmes, affiliates or associates are in Africa and are led by African’s. We have been doing development work on the continent since 1972 and in Nigeria since 1999. ActionAid works with the poor and excluded in Africa,  promoting values and commitment in civil society, institutions and governments with the aim of achieving structural changes in order to eradicate injustices and poverty in the world.

To effectively consolidate on our new country strategy, AAN is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the vacant position below:

Position:  Programme Manager (Reproductive & Sexual Health Services for Internally Displaced Persons (RSHSDIP).

Person Specifications

Educational/Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Arts or Human is essential,
  • Masters degree in a related fields is desirable.

 

Experience

  • At least 8 years minimum working experience is essential  
  • 4 years experience in the social development fields, particularly in designing setting up and coordinating monitoring evaluation and impact assessment systems and processes is essential
  • in -depth understanding of Conflict issues as it relates with Reproductive and Sexual Health and links with policy work at state, national and international levels is essential
  • Understanding of gender issues in development and demonstrable commitment to promoting gender equity within the organisation and in programme work is desirable.

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent skills in facilitation and in capacity building of local partners on PME is essential
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, documentation and presentation skills is essential
  • Excellent skills in programme information management is desirable

Personal Qualities

  • Demonstrable commitment to supportive team working  
  • Creative and tasks initiative.
  • Able to  work effectively in a diverse team environment willing to work additional hours at crucial times
