We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:
Job Title: Consultant – Training of Frontline Health Workers in Secondary Health Facilities on Essential New Born Care in Lagos State
In an effort towards reducing neonatal and U5 child mortality, Save the Children through the Health workers Capacity building project had in the last 2 years trained 65 frontline health workers on Essential Newborn care
The trained health workers were selected from different PHCs and private health facilities across the state and they have since been providing quality newborn care services. While all the previous trainings were only targeted at health workers at the primary health care level, those at the secondary health care levels were always presumed to have all the skills needed for newborn care. However, this had not always been the case, as many mortalities have also been recorded at the secondary level of care, hence the need for ENC trainings at this level as well.
Therefore, this Terms of Reference (TOR) describes the approaches needed to train 54 health workers on ENC using the national approved blended ENCC package guidelines comprising of Helping Babies Breathe, Essential Newborn Care for Every baby and Essential Newborn Care for Small babies. The aim of the training is to improve the skills of frontline health workers (Nurses/Midwives and doctors) from target health facilities on Essential new born care.
The lead facilitator will lead 4 resource persons. The following below will be taught during the training:
