Job Title: 2ND OFFICER<\/strong><\/p>\n

LOCATION: ONBOARD NLNG CHARTERED SHIPS<\/p>\n

The Job:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The appointee will be required to keep a safe navigation and cargo watch and maintain the navigation equipment and publications deck fire and safety equipments.<\/p>\n

The duties may include, but are not limited to the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure the safety of all personnel working for him, especially at mooring station when arriving and leaving port
\n\u2022 Responsible for the Medical locker and ensure the administration of first aid and medical treatment to Shipboard personnel.
\n\u2022 Ensure that the breathing apparatus and oxygen resuscitation equipment are in working condition and all associated records are properly maintained.
\n\u2022 Maintain the Bridge information book and associated records
\n\u2022 Act as nominated officer for the GMDSS station, when required, with responsibility for associated tests and records
\n\u2022 Maintain navigational watch when vessel is at sea and\u00a0 cargo watch at loading\/discharge ports
\n\u2022 Plan and prepare vessel voyage charts tracing the routes and update the charts
\n\u2022 Liaise with Chief Officer to order navigational chart and other admiralty materials for the safe navigation of the ship.
\n\u2022 Act as shipboard Safety Officer when required<\/p>\n

Job Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Person:<\/strong>
\nThe right person should:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Possess a OOW (Deck) Certificate of Competency (CoC)
\n\u2022 Possession of HND will be an added advantage
\n\u2022 Possess 5 years seagoing experience
\n\u2022 Experience on LNG\/LPG carrier will be an added advantage
\n\u2022 Possession of Tanker Familiarisation\/Dangerous Cargo Endorsement will be an added advantage
\n\u2022 Possess knowledge of Shipping Operations in the Shipping and marine industry
\n\u2022 Be a Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.<\/p>\n
