We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Junior Safety Officer &#8211; Logistics<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Calabar, Cross River<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Full-time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are a highly reputable haulage company looking to engage the services of a Junior Health and Safety Officer to assist the facilitation of compliance with health and safety guidelines and providing advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Functions of the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the Safety officer in charge in the development of safety policies and programs<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and ensure compliance to all safety policies<\/li>\n<li>Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures<\/li>\n<li>Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)<\/li>\n<li>Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management<\/li>\n<li>Assist in carrying out regular site inspections to check that policies and procedures are being properly implemented<\/li>\n<li>Assist in carrying in-house training about health and safety issues and risks<\/li>\n<li>Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements<\/li>\n<li>Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers<\/li>\n<li>Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.<\/li>\n<li>Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy<\/li>\n<li>Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker&#8217;s compensation claims<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties as may be assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Educational Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.Sc. \/ BA in Safety Management or relevant field is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Certificate in health and safety<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 4 years of experience working as a Health and Safety officer<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the transport \/ logistics industry is a must<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven experience as safety officer and working with drivers<\/li>\n<li>In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA \/ EPA) and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Diligent with great attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics<\/li>\n<li>Must be agile<\/li>\n<li>Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should forward their CV to: <strong><a href=\"mailto:recruitment@whitesoulmotors.com\" target=\"_blank\">recruitment@whitesoulmotors.com<\/a><\/strong> using the &#8220;Job Title&#8221; as subject of the email<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: \u00a0<\/strong>30th September, 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>White Soul Motors Limited, incorporated in 1996 is a leading importer, distributor and marketer of various brands of brand new and very clean foreign used vehicles.
