Operating directly in over 40 countries, WFD works with parliaments, political parties, and civil society groups as well as on elections to help make countries\u2019 political systems fairer and more inclusive, accountable and transparent.\u00a0We are recruiting to fill the positions below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Programme Coordinator &#8211; Nigeria<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Programmes<br \/>\n<strong>Experience:<\/strong> Administration<br \/>\n<strong>Contract length:<\/strong> October 2020 -31 March 2021<br \/>\n<strong>Start Date:<\/strong> Immediate &#8211; Applications accepted from candidates with a maximum of 1 weeks&#8217; notice.<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Type:<\/strong> Full-time Fixed Term Contract for Service<\/p>\n<p><strong>Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is an exciting time to be joining WFD, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Programme Coordinator to support the development of a new programme based in Abuja, Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>The Programme Coordinator (PC) will play an active role in developing WFD\u2019s programme and operations in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>A key task of the PC will be to identify relevant activities that will become part of the programmes implemented by WFD and to co-ordinate activities with other organisations. The PC will provide administrative and logistical support in organising various events and meetings with relevant stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>They will also be required to prepare and disseminate project documentation, assist in the preparation of the narrative and financial reports, finance and administration, collecting monitoring and evaluation data and communicating project successes and achievements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Commonwealth Equality Project (CEP)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Commonwealth Equality Project (CEP) is a Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) funded Commonwealth-wide programme focussed on expanding the participation of women, girls and LGBT+ persons in political and societal decision-making processes. The programme will operate in 13 countries across the Caribbean, Pacific, Africa and Africa and will be implemented over a six-month period. The programme will be delivered in close partnership with Kaleidoscope Trust, a non-profit LGBT+ rights organisation.<\/li>\n<li>The Nigerian programme will focus on exploring and strengthening gender equality, inclusion and rights of marginalised groups. WFD will work with parliamentarians and officials, independent institutions, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.\u00a0 Gender equality, human rights, inclusivity and support for thematic areas wherever appropriate are integrated in the work we do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The core skills and experience we are looking for are;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extensive project management, administration, evaluation, monitoring experience<\/li>\n<li>Financial and budget management experience &#8211; competent using Excel and producing financial reports<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the local parliamentary system, political background and the challenges of democracy in the country.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organisational skills<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience producing and presenting proposals and reports<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in spoken and written English and one or two local languages<\/li>\n<li>Credibility and confidence in communication and networking<\/li>\n<li>Degree level in a relevant discipline<\/li>\n<li>Ability and confidence to multi-task in an international environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WFD\u2019s Competency and Skills Framework:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WFD\u2019s competency and skills framework describe the behaviours required for each position.
