We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: GIS Planning, Analyst &amp; Operations Specialist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting To:<\/strong> GIS Coordinator<br \/>\n<strong> Employment Type:<\/strong> Full time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Purpose<\/strong><br \/>\nOversees the mapping, data creation, management, and analysis to support comprehensive planning processes and activities within Ikeja Electric.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create maps and graphs, using GIS software (ESRI &amp; QGIS) and related equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Research to locate and get existing databases.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and update site tracker and database<\/li>\n<li>Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from staff and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.<\/li>\n<li>Create and implement standards for quality of geographic data.<\/li>\n<li>Design, update and implement systems and databases for storing and accessing geospatial data.<\/li>\n<li>Study, develop, and implement procedures and policies to improve efficiency and ensure sound GIS practices and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Assess and develop a plan for GIS system software and hardware needs for Ikeja Electric<\/li>\n<li>Use GIS software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information<\/li>\n<li>Able to design, implement, maintain and administer relational database management systems.<\/li>\n<li>Use GIS to analyze data related to equipment and assets for planning purposes within Ikeja Electric.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.<\/li>\n<li>Enter new map data through use of a digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First degree with major course work in information sciences, geography, geographic information systems, engineering, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>At least 7 years\u2019 experience of increasingly responsible geographic information systems experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency in using GIS applications like ArcGIS Online, Business Analyst Web app, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Understands principles and practices of GIS analysis and design.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoot GIS network and application problems.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to design and manipulate\/calculate GIS and associated database information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Behavioral Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervision &amp; Leadership skill<\/li>\n<li>Result Oriented<\/li>\n<li>Good planning and organization skills<\/li>\n<li>Communicates in a fluent, logical, clear and convincing manner verbally and in writing<\/li>\n<li>Use resources effectively<\/li>\n<li>Attention to details<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To\u00a0Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/careers.ikejaelectric.com\/position\/view\/169\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>21st October, 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) &#8211; Buoyed by a mission to redefine customer experience and be the provider of choice wherever energy is consumed, the Ikeja Electric (IE), Nigeria&#8217;s largest&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10165,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[1],"tags":[2685],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
