Our teams are committed to supporting civilians\u2019 victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency.<\/p>\n<p>The PUI Nigerian Mission has been officially opened in April 2016, with a focus on meeting urgent needs, including improving access to food commodities, primary health care and nutrition for Internally Displaced People (IDP) and host communities (HC) living in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC).<\/p>\n<p>The progressive sectorial widening allowed PUI to start implementing an integrated approach from 2017 in food security, livelihoods, and nutrition and health sectors, with the support of ECHO, FFP, OFDA and CIAA\/CDC, in line with PUI\u2019s global strategy. From the launch of the health care services in February 2017 to the end of April 2018, a total of 119,913 OPD consultations were reached in Bolori II, while more than 60.000 beneficiaries have been reached by our cash project.<\/p>\n<p>In mid-2018, PUI has developed its comprehensive response by adding Protection and Community Outreach (PCO) activities to the existing programs in Bolori II. In the month of October 2018 only, more than 3.500 households have received door to door visit from the PCO team. In 2018, PUI has also scaled up its intervention with the opening of Monguno LGA base, with the main objectives of reducing morbidity and mortality of the most vulnerable population and promoting protection amongst the whole affected community. This opening in Monguno allowed PUI to reach the vulnerable population in Kukawa and Cross Kauwa LGA.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, PUI will further develop its integrated approach by adding a WASH component to its comprehensive response. In parallel, PUI is continuously supporting the coordination mechanisms in North East Nigeria humanitarian crisis. Finally, PUI is also running the common logistics platform for all humanitarian actors thanks to a co-funding between 20 partners, and a funding from the logistics sector (WFP). Thanks to the Maiduguri Inter Agency Logistic Platform, 91 projects have been supported in 2018, for a total of 7 000 000 of indirect beneficiaries. PUI is looking for a suitably qualified candidate for its Maiduguri Base FSL Project in the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Food Security and Livelihood Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Start Date:<\/strong> 11th December, 2020<br \/>\n<strong>Contract End Date:<\/strong> 31st July, 2021 (renewable based on availability of funding)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overal Mission General Objective<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the direct supervision of the Food Security and livelihood Supervisor, the FSL Officer is responsible for the daily implementation of the emergency Evoucher food assistance project activity in Maiduguri, Borno State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities and Tasks<\/strong><br \/>\nImplementation and Monitoring of the FSL Activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>S\/He implement the daily food security and livelihood activities according to the FS program direction.<\/li>\n<li>Respect the planning and set-up of the activities.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He collects any relevant information from the communities and partners.<\/li>\n<li>Participate to all food security and livelihood assessments.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He supporting beneficiary and vendors during E voucher card distribution and disbursement.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute in analysing humanitarian situation in the field and very familiar with Do no Harm policy.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He must have capacity to determine protection issue in the field and can liaise to his\/her supervisor<\/li>\n<li>S\/He takes part in the identification and registration of beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He contributes to the identification and registration of suppliers\/vendors on the market and to the monthly market assessment.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He actively takes part in the post distribution monitoring activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Community Mobilization:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that beneficiaries and local populations understand the project goals and agree with the implementation process and modality.<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate to the good collaboration with local leaders and community representatives.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a liaison with the local population and authorities in order to identify the needs, grievances and major events that could have potential consequences for PUI activity.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He ensures the proper training and supervision of the community\u2019s volunteers who take part in the project.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He organizes sensitizations for the beneficiaries or community\u2019s members according to the identified needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Report to the FS supervisor on the progress of activities and specific tasks assigned, problems encountered, the quality of relations with beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<li>Submit the daily task and weekly situational report to line manager on daily and weekly basis respectively.<\/li>\n<li>Collect, enter and analyze the necessary data according to the need of the project<\/li>\n<li>Extract and pass on statistics to the team supervisor, deputy program manager and\/or program manager.<\/li>\n<li>Keep monitoring tools and files archived at the PUI office, ensuring their availability to his\/her FS&amp;L supervisor and Program Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Pass on any information or problems to his\/her direct and\/or indirect supervisor concerning his\/her task, PUI programs, or safety aspects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Logistic &amp; Administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the responsibility of the FS supervisor, take part in logistical and administrative organization, planning, and preparation of the projects.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the follow-up and the proper use of materials and tools used during on-site works.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the supply of materials to the work site in collaboration with logistic department.<\/li>\n<li>The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are non-exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project\u2019s needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Priorities of the Department:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute on the assessment processes, gather essential information in the community to support the department in developing new project and strategy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Mandatory Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nEducation Degree:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Agriculture, Food Security, Disaster Risk Management, Agricultural Economy, Rural Development, Agricultural Extension, Agribusiness Management or related fields.
