In Nigeria,\u00a0<strong>UNOPS<\/strong>\u00a0is implementing The Niger Delta Job Creation and Conflict Prevention Initiative which aims at mitigating the violence in the Niger Delta through job creation and conflict prevention initiatives to the vulnerable unemployed youths in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The project is jointly funded by the Delta State Government, United Nations Development Project (UNDP) and Shell Petroleum Development Corporation (SPDC). This specific project covers a variety of sectors including training of beneficiaries in livelihood vocational skills development, job creation, mind-set change and conflict prevention initiatives. To achieve these objectives,\u00a0<strong>UNOPS<\/strong>\u00a0alongside the partners are setting up a befitting vocational training centre in Egbokodo, Warri, Delta State and would require the services of suitably qualified individuals for the following positions:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Principal Officer, Entrepreneurial &amp; Life Skills<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Vacancy Reference Code UNOPS\/VA\/2011-007<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<br \/>\n<\/strong>Individual shall coordinate the development of entrepreneurial life skills for the Centre and provide technical guidance to project proposals submitted by implementing partners.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Qualification\/Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc or HND in economics, socioeconomic, development planning, financial management or other related fields<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years of previous job experience relevant to the function or in relevant fields of work<\/li>\n<li>Professional qualification is an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Entrepreneurship Course Instructor<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><em>Vacancy Reference Code UNOPS\/VA\/2011-011<br \/>\n<\/em><strong><br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nIndividuals must demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of their field of discipline. Also, must be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students&#8217; needs when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Display an ability to interpret and evaluate the theories of their field or discipline<\/li>\n<li>Plan and organise instruction in ways that maximise student learning<\/li>\n<li>Encourage the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification\/Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc or HND qualification in area required and relevant to the execution of duties<\/li>\n<li>5 years relevant working experience<\/li>\n<li>Professional qualification is an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>METHOD OF APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All interested candidates are expected to submit their applications containing a letter of interest, curriculum vitae and the United Nations Personal History form (P11) to the following email address:\u00a0<strong>ngoc@unops.org<\/strong>on or before 15th January 2012<\/li>\n<li>Only short listed candidates will be contacted and no other correspondence will be entered into with applicants<\/li>\n<li>The UN personal history Forms (P11) can also be obtained from the UNOPS website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unops.org\/english\/whoweneed\/pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.unops.org\/SiteCollectionDocuments\/HR%20docs\/P11%20form.doc<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><strong>ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Remuneration<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recruitment for the above stated positions is carried out on behalf of the Delta state Government and partners and successful candidates, once employed shall be subject to the best salary scale obtainable at Delta State institutions with an additional Special Duty Allowances (SDA) &#8211; 30% of Gross salary. Candidates will not be recruited nor subject to UN contract agreement.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interested and suitably qualified candidates working with the Delta state Government Educational institutions are encouraged to apply.
