We believe in the power and potential of every child, but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination.We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Food Distribution Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Gwoza LGA, Borno<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Food Distribution Officer is responsible for coordinating the-distribution of food rations in compliance with Plan International Nigeria and UNWFP policies for an effective and smooth running general food distribution program.<\/li>\n<li>The food distribution officer will work under the direction of the project coordinator and will collaborate closely with other project staff employees within the commodity department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dimension of Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Food Distribution Officer is responsible for performing distribution of food commodities on the field according to the methodologies and guidelines provided by Plan International.<\/li>\n<li>They will be part of a distribution team responsible for ensuring a smooth and clear distribution process, from enrolment to disbursement.<\/li>\n<li>They are responsible for monitoring beneficiaries\u2019 enrolment, verifying their identity card. During disbursement, they will be responsible for monitoring the process together with Community Mobilizers. This will include spot-checks on beneficiaries\u2019 identification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Roles\/Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\nArrange, organize and attend distributions and provide with post distribution reports:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organize and arrange distributions according to SOP defined by PLAN;<\/li>\n<li>To distribute commodities to eligible beneficiaries strictly following verification process and methodology and standards defined by PLAN;<\/li>\n<li>Foresee crowd control, verification of beneficiary and receipt of entitled commodities by the beneficiary in exact amount as entitled in methodology;<\/li>\n<li>To collect all data needed for reporting after distributions.<\/li>\n<li>Submit accurate and detailed reports on distributions and assistance provided to beneficiary during distributions<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all commodities entrusted to Plan International arriving at food distribution point are properly accounted for.<\/li>\n<li>Scrutinize all waybills for commodities arriving at the distribution points. Ensure that the commodities are of correct quantities and quality as manifested on the waybill. Immediately record all quantities delivered short (missing), quantities lost in transit and quantities damaged if any (In the field and FDP). All observations must be recorded immediately.<\/li>\n<li>Commodities must carefully be counted during off-loading.<\/li>\n<li>At the distribution points, commodities must be stacked in an organized manner, by commodity type to facilitate easy distribution.<\/li>\n<li>Take active role in the registration and verification of beneficiaries to ensure that the process is fair<\/li>\n<li>Organize and supervise general food distributions in the field and FDPs.<\/li>\n<li>At the food distribution points, commodities must be properly stacked on plastic sheeting<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ensure that the food distribution point is properly organized and secured with ropes and crowd control measures put in place to ensure smooth distribution and flow of beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible to ensure that all necessary distribution equipment\u2019s are available at the distributions point, including forms, ropes, banners, plastic sheets, measuring devices etc.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise loading of food that is left over after distributions. Ensure that a waybill is prepared for food to be returned to the warehouse.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare daily distribution point visit reports and Food Monitors report. This is a MUST<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper completion and safe return of all tally documents and beneficiary lists to the office for safe storage.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper accounting of all quantities of commodities received and distributed at each distribution point.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project Support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To support with distributions and data entry after distributions as required;<\/li>\n<li>To support with surveying of beneficiaries and others when needed;<\/li>\n<li>To support with data analysis and reporting when called upon;<\/li>\n<li>To process data and information from field \u2013 in particular ensure quality, consistency, accuracy, truthfulness, comprehensiveness of all distribution data;<\/li>\n<li>To support mass information awareness campaign to inform beneficiaries on distribution related information;<\/li>\n<li>To support in preparation of the monthly\/weekly work plan schedules;<\/li>\n<li>To prepare all other report upon request by the project coordinator;<\/li>\n<li>Provide with suggestions on improvement of the work process if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Filing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To ensure that up-to-date files, beneficiary lists are maintained, both electronically and in paper form;<\/li>\n<li>To perform accurate filing of all processed documents, monthly consolidated filing of key project documents in the office.<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor is Degree, preferably in a discipline such as Human nutrition, Agriculture, international development, business administration, management and economics or any other discipline relevant to development.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in a related position for at least 3 years, including managing general Food Distribution &amp; Nutrition projects.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing UNWFP-funded projects<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working \u201cIn-kind Distributions\u201d projects is preferable.<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in written and spoken English and Hausa<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to and understanding of PLAN\u2019S aims, values and principles.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants from Borno State are encouraged to apply<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong communication skills: oral, written and presentation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver PLAN\u2019s strategic objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the development and scheduling of volunteer outreach activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>To Apply:<\/b><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.plan-international.org\/job\/Gwoza-LGA%2C-Borno-State-Food-Distribution-Officer\/644635501\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Click here to apply online<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>3rd February, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian non-profit organisation that advances children\u2019s rights and equality for girls.
