Plan International is registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission.We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Nutrition Assistant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Locations:\u00a0<\/strong>Pulka and Gwoza, Borno<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The food distribution assistant is responsible to assist the distribution of food rations in compliance with Plan International Nigeria and UNWFP policies for an effective and smooth-running general food distribution program.<\/li>\n<li>The food distribution assistant will work under the direction of the food distribution officer and will collaborate closely with other project staff employees within the commodity department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dimension of Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This project designed to provide the following services in Pulka and Gwoza LGA: General Food Distribution (GFD) targeting 56,738 and Blanket Supplementary Feeding Program (BSFP) targeting 6,904 beneficiaries (Children 6 to 59 months: 4,854 and 2.050 Pregnant and Lactating Women).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Roles\/Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Nutrition Assistant will among many other tasks perform the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reinforce project\u2019s activities through outreach activities using community relays and women group to:\n<ul>\n<li>Community mobilization<\/li>\n<li>Sensitizations<\/li>\n<li>Continuous Screening<\/li>\n<li>Educative talk on Nutrition and hygiene and ENA<\/li>\n<li>Cooking demonstrations<\/li>\n<li>Distribution of nutritional products<\/li>\n<li>Referral of MAS to relevant structures<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring of ex MAS cases<\/li>\n<li>Home visits to verify the preparation, storage and use of nutritional products.<\/li>\n<li>Verify cases of non-respondent to the treatment<\/li>\n<li>General monitoring of project activities<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the District Supervisor, Project Coordinator to ensure the quality and federation of nutrition actions within the districts;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the Community Animators have a well mastery of the anthropometric measurements and equipped\u00a0\u00a0 to screen malnutrition<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper and effective Distribution of Foodstuffs to patients<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the post-distribution processes and prepare the next distribution<\/li>\n<li>Collects and consolidates reports for chief relays<\/li>\n<li>Organize regular jointed meeting with stakeholders to be able to exchange vital information on the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Reinforce capacity of existing community relays in his\/her zone of intervention<\/li>\n<li>Involve as much as possible the representative of the Ministry of health in all projects activities.<\/li>\n<li>Create good collaboration channel with all stockholders.<\/li>\n<li>Reinforce the link between MAS, MAM and BSF programs.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the appropriation of the project through capacity enhancement of local dialogue structures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least SSCE\/NECO is required<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in a related position for at least 1 years, including working under Nutrition projects.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working on a UNWFP-funded projects<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working in deep field<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in written and spoken English and Hausa<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to and understanding of PLAN\u2019S aims, values and principles.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must be community based (Pulka\/ Gwoza)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong communication skills: oral, written and presentation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver PLAN\u2019s strategic objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the development and scheduling of volunteer outreach activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.plan-international.org\/job\/Pulka-&amp;-Gwoza-Nutrition-Assistant\/644654001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Click here to apply online<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>3rd February, 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong>Plan International Nigeria is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender or disabilities.
