This is to be based in Onne, Nigeria<\/p>\n<p><strong><span><label for=\"Role Summary\/Purpose\">Role  Summary\/Purpose<\/label><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Logistics Manager will be an important interface between Vetco\u2019s Import  agent and the business unit.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"https:\/\/nigeriajoblist.com\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/>The successful candidate will ensure that all shipments are handled in a fully compliant manner from start to finish, and in accordance with local and international anti corruption laws and the Vetco International Code of Conduct.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Logistics Manager will primarily be responsible for the day to day management of Vetco \/ Pressure Control Systems Nigeria Ltd Logistics Teams and to give guidance, management and support to personnel based in other remote locations who are handling freight movements.<\/li>\n<li>The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective coordination of import and export consignments and will ensure that shipments are handled according to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the VI Code of Conduct.<\/li>\n<li>There will also be a strong emphasis on maintaining accurate customs documentation and records and gaining a full understanding of the local import system.<\/li>\n<li>The post holder will need to work towards streamlining the import process and improving the logistics supply chain in a difficult operating environment.<\/li>\n<li>Will ensure that all logistics personnel are following the company\u2019s Country Specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for logistics \u2013 Vetco\u2019s \/ PCSNL Logistics SOP\u2019s are designed to ensure compliant and efficient logistics processes are followed in all locations where Vetco \/ PCSNL is handling logistics transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Will work towards standardising logistics processes and will provide training to Vetco \/ PCSNL Logistics personnel when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Will also be required to successfully oversee the maintenance of customs  records by the Logistics teams.<\/li>\n<li>Also required to ensure logistics Document retention systems are properly  updated.<\/li>\n<li>Will be expected to carry out due diligence interviews on logistics vendor(s), audit logistics invoices to ensure Vetco \/ PCSNL is being billed in accordance with established contracts.<\/li>\n<li>From time to time, will be responsible for making freight and transport bookings with Vetco\u2019s \/ PCSNL pre approved freight vendors, and to become involved in the movement of mission critical project cargo and ensuring that these shipments are handled in accordance with Vetco\u2019s \/ PCSNL country specific SOPs.<\/li>\n<li>Will ensure that a performance review meetings with the approved freight  vendor are carried on a regular basis and<br \/>\nsubmit reports based on the pre  agreed KPIs and targets.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for liaison with freight vendors and monitoring of freight vendor performance, by ensuring that performance review meeting are carried on a regular basis with pre-agreed KPIs and metrics, and reporting non<br \/>\nconformance  issues to the ERO Logistics SCM.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for liaison with external customers logistics departments in  order to ensure efficient handling of<br \/>\ncustomer collect Ex Works consignments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications\/Requirements <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Educated to University Degree on Logistics, Business or related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years Oil and Gas or other relevant industry experience.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years within oil industry Logistics or freight forwarding  companies.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years experience of customs documentation control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/xjobs.brassring.com\/1033\/ASP\/TG\/cim_advsearch.asp?SID=^iqzjZhHpo0ppkjgwUwJ8xBBFxAMooOuPg4ZsXyI8F\/9S6zoNBi650Vp_slp_rhc__slp_rhc_lyk0dgu1nvtoM8Fs_slp_rhc_DO_C_R__L_F_1C\/C0G9vjQAV1_slp_rhc_9en_slp_rhc_KiiBAsKuL\/gj8=&amp;ref=92200912158\">Apply directly through GE website<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Application Deadline is <strong>30th September 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GE Oil &amp; Gas is looking for qualified and suitable individual for the postion of a Logistics Manager.
