\nThe Accountant will assist in the day to day execution of all financial operations in all offices of Helen Keller International- Nigeria, under the supervision of the Finance Manager.
\nPosition title: Accountant
\nReport directly to: Finance and Admin Manager
\nCollaborates with: Country Director, Finance staff, Program Staff & Partners<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Enter data into financial accounting software on daily basis.
\n\u2022 Ensure Core Costs are correctly entered in the template
\n\u2022 Deal with retirement of advances, in particular:
\no Verify\/ check calculation on receipts;
\no Verify\/ assign accounting codes;
\no Assign sequential reference to each transaction for cross checking in the Accounting systems and receipts;
\no Verify and file receipts and other work papers;
\no Check the accounting records for accuracy and correctness as necessary;
\n\u2022 Assist in maintaining files and updating finance records.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Prepare donors financial reports according to donor requirements.
\n\u2022 Prepare all other financial reports as needed.
\n\u2022 Check matching expenses for compliance with donor regulations.
\n\u2022 Reconcile all bank account monthly against bank statement and submit to FM for review.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Assist the administration in the preparation of office running budget.
\n\u2022 Collaborate with the Finance Manager and the Project Coordinators to create budgets for new projects.
\nProject Monitoring & Reporting
\n\u2022 Analyze and monitor all grants and provide feedback to Finance Manager.
\n\u2022 Interact with program staff on project funding status.
\n\u2022 Prepare all necessary donor reports and submit to Finance Manager for review and approval.
\n\u2022 Monitor any sub-grant spending as dictated by the donor rules and regulations.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Check\/ Prepare tax and pension deductions and ensure they are paid in timely manner.
\n\u2022 Check\/ Prepare staff severance payment prior to entry in the accounting software.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Assist in country audit as needed.
\n\u2022 Perform other tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.<\/p>\n
