Our mission gives us the purpose to develop innovative medicines and products that help millions of people around the world.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for smart and dynamic individual to fill the role:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Head Procurement &amp; Supply Chain (Ref: Ps001)<\/p>\n<p>Geographical Scope<\/strong><br \/>\nResponsibility spans across Anglophone West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra-Leone and Gambia)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Buying competitively (by keeping abreast of the forces of supply and demand that regulate prices and availability of materials) and wisely (involves constant search for better values that yield the best combination of price, quality and service)<\/li>\n<li>Developing reliable alternative sources of supply materials and services<\/li>\n<li>Development of proper and streamline systems and procedures relating to the purchasing function to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and at the lowest reasonable operating cost department such as the Warehouse, Supply, Production and Finance departments<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordination with local toll manufacturing sites, sales and marketing departments regarding production schedules or changes in material, production or packaging specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Developments of strategies for maintaining the company\u2019s competitive position by controlling costs relating to materials and imported finished pharmaceuticals and thereby maximizing profit<\/li>\n<li>Development of purchasing forecast, production and delivery schedules of imported products and materials with a view of striking a balance between availability and holding cost<\/li>\n<li>Advising the management of changes in the parameter of costing of impact of negative variances and maximizes opportunities that comes with position variances<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nYou must possess:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University Degree<\/li>\n<li>Professional Qualification in Purchasing &amp; Supply<\/li>\n<li>6-8 years posts qualification experience in the industry with at least 4 spent in a leading others position<\/li>\n<li>Computer Literate<\/li>\n<li>Good Communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Closing Date<\/strong><br \/>\n5th June, 2012<\/p>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested candidates should apply to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Human Resources Manager,<br \/>\nGlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Nigeria Limited<br \/>\n1, Industrial Avenue, Ilupeju, Lagos<\/strong><br \/>\nOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At\u00a0GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)\u00a0we have a challenging and inspiring mission to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer.
