Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Yola, Adamawa<br \/>\n<strong>Ref:<\/strong> IITA-HR-NRS2021-0019<br \/>\n<span dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Recruitment Type:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">National (<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">1<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">year renewable contract)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><br \/>\n<span dir=\"ltr\">Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Develop, coordinate, and implement a detailed communication and knowledge\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">exchange plan for the Activity in close collaboration with Activity experts, partners\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">and the Chief of Party;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Establish and maintain approaches to ensure the sustainable, timely, tra<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">nsparent\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">and interconnected two<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">way exchange of knowledge across the Activity;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Manage and ensure effective stakeholder relationships and knowledge exchange\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">approaches by engaging in dialog and using feedback mechanisms with Activity\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">partners, ADPs and bene<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ficiaries;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Manage Activity events (including press conferences, promotional events and\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">exhibitions) and produce accurate timely report, events and success stories,\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">newsletters\/bulletin;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Set up, design and coordinate an online media platform on Activity res<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ults in close\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">collaboration with a social media;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Support web<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">based tools and social media for widespread communication of\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">knowledge generated;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Produce efficient communication materials (print and audio including educational\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">video documentation) adap<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ted to the needs of farmers for communication of key\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">Activity outputs and learnings;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Advise on and produce training and educational materials for the manufacture\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">and use of the best<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">practice production technologies, seed systems approaches,\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">business cluste<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">r formation, and integrated value chain development for extension services and rural populations;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Manage in close collaboration with the Chief of Party and the donor the PR aspect\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">of a possible crisis situation and advising on possible crisis communication<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">strategies;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Participate and contribute to the reporting, evaluation and planning processes\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">and elaboration of Activity<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Work with other staff of the Activity to ensure that the objectives of the Activity\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">are achieved;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Perform any other job<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">related task as<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">may be assigned by the\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">S<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">upervisor<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Qualification<\/strong><\/span><span dir=\"ltr\"><strong>s:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Master\u2019s in Mass Communication<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">, Journalism, English Language, Linguistics, Public\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">Relations\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">or related field;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">With a\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">minimum of\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">seven\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">(<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">7<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">) years experience<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">performing similar\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">role in\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">a\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">well<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">-structured environment or donor funded organization.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span dir=\"ltr\">Competencies:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span dir=\"ltr\">The ideal candidate must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Be proficient in the use of computers (with good grasp and knowledge of\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">spreadsheets, word processing, power point presentat<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ion and other MS office\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">applications), database management software, internet<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">based tools and other\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">electronic communication tools.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Have a good understanding and knowledge of online social media tools (such as\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">Web 2.0 platforms, blog sites etc.) and writin<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">g for the Web.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Be\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">Proficien<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">t<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">in English language with excellent oral, writing, communication, and\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">presentation skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Have excellent interpersonal skills, be a team worker and facilitator,\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">communication and networking skills and the ability to work in a t<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">eam<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">oriented\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">multicultural environment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Demonstr<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ate<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ability to plan and co<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ordinate, and monitor own work plans, prioritize\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">and organize workloads; take initiatives and work under pressure.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Have an excellent understanding of agriculture, poverty, youth emp<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">owerment,\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">gender and sustainability issues in rural development of Nigeria, especially in the\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">Northeast region.<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">|<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Have ability to integrate in an existing complex programme set<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">up.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"ltr\">Have ability to deliver accurate and timely reports, events and\u00a0<\/span><span
