{"id":1536,"date":"2009-08-07T13:49:57","date_gmt":"2009-08-07T12:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=1536"},"modified":"2009-11-13T12:29:17","modified_gmt":"2009-11-13T11:29:17","slug":"undp-nigeria-registry-clerk-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/undp-nigeria-registry-clerk-abuja.html","title":{"rendered":"UNDP Nigeria: Registry Clerk &#8211; Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">UNDP<\/strong> is currently recruiting for a suitable and qualified perrson\u00a0 for the post of\u00a0<strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Registry Clerk<\/strong> which will be based in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Under the guidance and supervision of the Administrative Associate, the Registry Clerk provides reliable registry services.<\/p>\n<p>The Registry Clerk demonstrates a client-oriented approach, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Job Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Summary of key functions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintenance of proper registry system<\/li>\n<li>Effective mail management<\/li>\n<li>Cost recovery for pouch services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. Ensures maintenance of registry system focusing on achievement of the following results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintenance of the office filing system in accordance with the UNDP Global Filing System<\/li>\n<li>Opening of new subject files as required and disposal of old files in accordance with the established retention schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Maintenance of archives, making sure files are properly stored and accessible; safe keeping of documents<\/li>\n<li>Provision of photocopies of material from the registry files, as requested by staff. Assistance in the collection of\u00a0 reference and background material from registry files<\/li>\n<li>Establishment and maintenance of records system of file movements within the office; maintenance of the office circulation and reading files.<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of correspondence and reports related to registry activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. Ensures provision of effective mail management focusing on achievement of the following results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receipt, registration, coding and forwarding of incoming faxes, letters and other correspondence to proper department\/unit\/officer.<\/li>\n<li>Registration and dispatch of the outgoing communications, including pouch, and follow-up distribution. Prepares the summary of enclosure forms and necessary documents and maintains the file on pouches received to ensure that all bags are accounted for.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Ensures cost recovery for pouch services focusing on achievement of the following results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provision of information for proper prorating and billing of user agencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a Degree holder<\/li>\n<li>Secondary education High School \/ A Levels (12 Years)<\/li>\n<li>Some typing skills required and knowledge of sound record-keeping procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 3 years of relevant work experience Ability to work with computer and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Corporate Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates commitment to UN mission, vision and values<\/li>\n<li>Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Functional Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge Management and Learning<\/li>\n<li>Shares knowledge and experience<\/li>\n<li>Provides helpful feedback and advice to others in the office Development and Operational Effectiveness<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates good IT skills<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of UNDP global filing system<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of UNDP operations procedures Leadership and Self-Management<\/li>\n<li>Focuses on result for the client and responds positively to feedback<\/li>\n<li>Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude -Remains calm, in control and good humored even under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Responds positively to critical feedback and different points of view.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Deadline is\u00a0<strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">17th August 2009<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.ng.undp.org\/user\/profile\/register.php\">Apply Online<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UNDP is currently recruiting for a suitable and qualified perrson\u00a0 for the post of\u00a0Registry Clerk which will be based in Abuja.
