IRC is committed to bold leadership, innovation, creative partnerships and assists people from harm to home.<\/p>\n<p>IRC began working in Nigeria in October 2012 in response to a widespread flooding. Since then, IRC has expanded its program scope and size with the aim of making the greatest possible contribution to meeting humanitarian needs across North East Nigeria. IRC\u2019s response includes integrated health, reproductive health, nutrition, protection including women\u2019s protection and empowerment services, child protection, environmental health, economic recovery and development, and education support. We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Grants Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Maidguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Requisition ID:<\/strong> req23830<br \/>\n<strong>Sector:<\/strong> Grants<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Category:<\/strong> Regular<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Full-Time<br \/>\n<strong>Open to Expatriates:<\/strong> No<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Overview \/ Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Grants Officer will provide grant management, administrative, business development and reporting support across the Nigeria portfolio. The Grants officer will work closely with the Grants units, program team, monitoring and evaluation (M&amp;E), finance and operations functions to ensure quality support to both pre and post award grants functions.<\/li>\n<li>The position holder will assist teams on donor compliance, reporting, proposal development and information management.\u00a0 The Grants Officer will provide administrative support to the Grants Team, and assist with the overall management of the Nigeria Country Program\u2019s grants portfolio, which includes large projects funded by donors such as FCDO, USAID, ECHO, etc.<\/li>\n<li>The position holder will be supervised by the Grants Manager and will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State with occasional trips to other field offices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Major Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain and update comprehensive online information management and filing systems, ensuring all relevant documentation and key communications are appropriately filed.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure IRC colleagues have access to relevant records and information.<\/li>\n<li>Support the use of grant\/project management tools (grants snapshot, reporting tracker, etc.) to ensure accurate tracking of opportunities, reporting and programmatic adjustments through the project life cycle.<\/li>\n<li>Support maintenance of the IRC\u2019s Opportunity Tracking &amp; Implementation System (OTIS).<\/li>\n<li>Maintain up-to-date, comprehensive database of donor guidelines relevant to the Nigeria portfolio.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Grants Manager with close monitoring of grants spending, and flagging concerns in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Support the timely coordination, writing, revision and dissemination of high-quality reports to donors.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with research and information gathering relative to proposal design and business development.<\/li>\n<li>Working with communications staff to collect lessons learned from IRC work and draft case studies from programs.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Grants Manager to ensure that information on all donor communications, changes in regulations, and meetings or events are disseminated as needed.<\/li>\n<li>As requested, work closely with other members of the grants unit to proactively support any other grants management processes across the portfolio.<\/li>\n<li>As needed, assist with daily clerical and administrative tasks in the grants unit including organizing online files, recording, and distributing meeting notes and coordinating meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Grants Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Working Relationships :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Position Reports to: Grants Manager<\/li>\n<li>Indirect\/Technical Reporting: N\/A<\/li>\n<li>Position Directly Supervises: N\/A<\/li>\n<li>Key Internal Contacts: Grants, Partnerships and Communications Department, Program Coordinators, Operations Coordinators, Finance Department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree or equivalent in International Affairs, Development, International Political Economy, or other relevant subject.<\/li>\n<li>1-2 years clerical and administrative experience, preferably in an international NGO.<\/li>\n<li>High school degree with 2-3 years previous administrative and clerical work experience in lieu of Bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English, spoken and written.<\/li>\n<li>Strong writing and editing skills in English with close attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent inter-personal\/ inter cultural skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage competing priorities, meet demanding deadlines and work under pressure in unstable security environments.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with international donors is preferred (BHA, USAID, ECHO, FCDO, GAC, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Standards of Professional Conduct\u00a0 :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in the IRC Way \u2013 Code of Conduct.
