We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Training Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organisational Background:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international charity that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services, including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety-related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations and training.<\/li>\n<li>INSO services help NGOs with their day-to-day risk management responsibilities and improve their overall situational awareness to support evidence-based humanitarian access decisions. The organisation has grown from an innovative start-up to become a globally recognised charity and a valuable component of the humanitarian safety coordination system.<\/li>\n<li>Today, with more than 1000 employees globally, INSO provides daily support to 1000 NGOs operating in 14 of the world\u2019s most insecure countries and has earned a strong reputation for its performance, principles, and professionalism.<\/li>\n<li>As of April 2019, INSO is registered as a charity in the Netherlands with its global headquarters now based in The Hague, the international city of peace and justice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>INSO Nigeria Country Office:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Since becoming registered in Nigeria, INSO has developed a strong country wide approach, supporting NGOs working on Lake Chad Basin Crisis from all neighbouring countries. The coordination office operates from Abuja overseeing two operational offices in Maiduguri, Nigeria and in Maroua, Cameroon.<\/li>\n<li>We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join our team as Training Officer to be based in Abuja with regular travel to the field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The purpose of this position is to facilitate and deliver high quality training and to support the Training Manager in the ongoing improvement of INSO Nigeria\u2019s training courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Training Facilitation and Development<\/li>\n<li>Support the line manager in course design, preparation, and delivery<\/li>\n<li>Take the lead in delivering classroom presentations and facilitate engaging training courses as directed by the line manager, to include:\n<ul>\n<li>Hostile Environment Individual Safety Training (HEIST)<\/li>\n<li>NGO Security Management (Essentials and Advanced)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Crisis Management<\/li>\n<li>Hostile Environment First Aid Training-First Responder (HEFAT-FR)<\/li>\n<li>Other relevant training, as directed<\/li>\n<li>Regularly travel to Maiduguri and the northeast to help deliver NGO security management and Induction to Safety and Security courses.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the development of new training courses and adjustment of existing courses with the line manager using adult learning methodologies<\/li>\n<li>Provide logistical support<\/li>\n<li>Manage the course participant lists as directed by the line manager<\/li>\n<li>Assist in producing training presentations, course handouts, facilitator notes, lesson plans, and aids as directed by the line manager<\/li>\n<li>When appropriate, assist the Training Assistant in organising the training course and facilitate logistical demands<\/li>\n<li>Guide the training strategy<\/li>\n<li>Participate proactively in the development of INSO\u2019s regional training strategy<\/li>\n<li>Monitor course feedback systems<\/li>\n<li>Support the line manager in monitoring and evaluation of training delivery and impact<\/li>\n<li>Support the line manager in further developing course appraisal and feedback systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When appropriate (e.g., in the absence of the Training Assistant), work closely with INSO\u2019s logistics, human resources and administration, and finance departments to manage the training program\u2019s requirements<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared to carry out other reasonable duties that may arise, as requested by line management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Mandatory Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Education or a Post-graduate diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant practical experience.<\/li>\n<li>At least one year of experience in training delivery<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the philosophy, priorities, and principles of humanitarian NGOs<\/li>\n<li>Proven presentation\/facilitator skills using adult learning methodologies<\/li>\n<li>Ability to carry out basic administrative and logistical tasks<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook<\/li>\n<li>Professional working proficiency in English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Preferred Characteristics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least one year of humanitarian experience in a safety or security management role<\/li>\n<li>Political, social, and historical knowledge of the region<\/li>\n<li>Security\/safety training course attendance<\/li>\n<li>First aid qualification<\/li>\n<li>User knowledge of GPS, Thuraya satellite phone, and VHF communications<\/li>\n<li>Professional working fluency in Hausa.
