Apply Now!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deloitte Nigeria &#8211; Our client, one of Nigeria&#8217;s largest integrated law firms, offering a wide variety of specialized legal services, is currently recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Financial Controller<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the preparation, reporting, filing and management of all financial statements<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the accounting, filing and payment of all statutory liabilities accurately and within the stipulated timelines<\/li>\n<li>Perform data migration and effectively uses accounting software to analyse, report and manage financial information<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper application of accounting standards in managing and recording financial transactions<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective cost control and cost management processes are implemented, tracked and reported<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and deliver the budget and financial plans on time and manage expenditure within the approved limits<\/li>\n<li>Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to identify and implement approved cost reduction opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Manage cash flow and debtor days within approved limits<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the fee note generation and fee collection process ensuring prompt issuance of fee notes and prompt escalation of receivables to the partner in charge<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, filed, and reported<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and that differences are investigated and resolved promptly for month end and year end reporting purposes<\/li>\n<li>Create and generate timely month end and annual reports to communicate the financial performance trends, and forecasts<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the finance department staff, including accountants and financial assistants and motivate for excellence by clarifying roles and providing constructive feedback<\/li>\n<li>Lead the requirement gathering, implementation of and migration to a new accounting system<\/li>\n<li>Ensure financial processes and controls operate effectively and efficiently on a day-to-day basis and develop and implement a review of existing processes and control to identify improvements for immediate implementation<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Management Board in developing and implementing a risk management process<\/li>\n<li>Manage the identification and mitigation of risk within the finance department<\/li>\n<li>Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations<\/li>\n<li>Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for and correct discrepancies<\/li>\n<li>Create systems to prevent errors in data collection, data entry and calculations<\/li>\n<li>Present reports to partners, stakeholder, and board members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Relevant professional certification e.g. Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ACA), Associate of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)<\/li>\n<li>10 &#8211; 16 years proven experience in Finance Management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills, Competencies \/ Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Financial Management<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of Accounting standards and Principles<\/li>\n<li>Accounting Tools\/Software<\/li>\n<li>Data Migration<\/li>\n<li>Financial Reporting<\/li>\n<li>Financial Controls<\/li>\n<li>Year-end reporting<\/li>\n<li>Financial Modelling &amp;
