The position will be based at our offices in Lagos. The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of the target market and a proven track record in creating compelling Nigerian television content<\/p>\n<p><strong>OUTPUTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Services and information which the individual must provide to external individuals or groups, or one another to accomplish the organisations mission and strategy:<\/p>\n<p>Determine channels\u2019 strategy in accordance with audience changes<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Secure appropriate content for the channels<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Take editorial responsibility for the channels in terms of scheduling<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Oversee monthly schedules which is produced based upon research, demographics, available audiences etc<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Create schedules that will maximize on deal terms<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ensure channels perform within parameters of target market<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Implement channels\u2019 strategy under direction of Channel Director<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ensure that air time targets are met on a monthly basis<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ensure Regulatory, company ethics and channel requirements are met<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Manage channels\u2019 budget on a monthly basis<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Management and development of staff<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ensure that new media elements are incorporated into programming<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Work closely with Marketing<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Set goals and monitor team\u2019s performance around the goals<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Handling ad hoc information requests<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability and will to travel locally and internationally<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONTEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Factors which will influence the work environment taking future conditions and strategic requirements into account:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Lucrative Media environment<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Dynamic, vibrant, fast-paced &amp; demanding organisation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Highly Competitive environment<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Company policies &amp; procedures<\/p>\n<p>CUSTOMERS<\/p>\n<p>External individuals or groups as well as individuals or groups within the organisation to whom products, services, programme and information must be provided.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Multichoice<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Marketing<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 DSTV Ad Sales<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Scheduling<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 EPG<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 On-Air<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Programme Producers and Suppliers<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Subscribers<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Potential subscribers<\/p>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE \/ QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Relevant marketing or communication degree<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Financial and legal experience an advantage<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 At least 5 years of television experience<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Extensive Content and TV knowledge<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Content acquisition knowledge is an advantage<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must speak and understand Yoruba and Hausa Fluently<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Computer literacy (i.e. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) compulsory<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Mindpack an advantage<\/p>\n<p>COMPETENCIES<\/p>\n<p>Personal capabilities which are critical to the production of quality outputs are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Accuracy and attention to detail<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A dynamic person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to liaise with a diversity of people at all levels<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to use judgement and make decisions<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Effective control of financial resources<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Is a role model for the team<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Good interpersonal skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to use initiative<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Marketing and programming proven track record<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Understanding of the target markets<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Passion for Nigerian programming, entertainment television and an understanding of Nollywood and global media trends<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Team spirited<\/p>\n<p><strong>METHOD OF APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
