Carbon has operations in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria, supported by a talented team spread between Lagos, Nairobi, London, Argentina, and Palo Alto so we operate with a remote-first mindset.\u00a0 We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Collections Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Full Time<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Business Intelligence<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are looking for a competent Collection officer to contact customers and collect outstanding payments.<\/li>\n<li>You will have to strike a balance between maintaining trustful relationships and ensuring timely payments.<\/li>\n<li>Our collections officer should exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness.<\/li>\n<li>You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently.<\/li>\n<li>You will have to be polite and sensitive towards people while also remaining committed to your purpose.<\/li>\n<li>Persistence and a sense of urgency are extremely useful to succeed in this task.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts<\/li>\n<li>Investigate historical data for each debt or bill<\/li>\n<li>Find and contact clients to ask about their overdue payments<\/li>\n<li>Take actions to encourage timely debt payments<\/li>\n<li>Process payments and refunds<\/li>\n<li>Resolve billing and customer credit issues<\/li>\n<li>Update account status records and collection efforts<\/li>\n<li>Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status<\/li>\n<li>Planning course of action to recover outstanding payments.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans.<\/li>\n<li>Follow-up with ALL promises to pay in a timely fashion.<\/li>\n<li>Keep tabs and reminders on payment.<\/li>\n<li>Create trust relationships with debtors when possible to avoid future issues.<\/li>\n<li>Alert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of OND is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>2- 3 years experience as a Recovery collector<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>First-hand resolution on calls<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working with targets<\/li>\n<li>Patience and ability to manage stress<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of MS Office and databases.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and people skills.<\/li>\n<li>Apt in negotiating and persuading.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A great and upbeat work environment populated by a multinational team.<\/li>\n<li>Potential to work in different geographies.<\/li>\n<li>Health Insurance.<\/li>\n<li>Life Insurance<\/li>\n<li>Career development &amp; Growth.<\/li>\n<li>We are advocates of work-life balance and offer a remote working option.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply:<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/carbon.bamboohr.com\/jobs\/view.php?id=61&amp;source=hotnigerianjobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to apply online<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Recruitment Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Call with People team<\/li>\n<li>Case Study ( Assessment)<\/li>\n<li>Technical interview<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carbon is a pan-African digital bank with a mission to provide friction-free finance to its customers.
