IPA brings together researchers and decision-makers to design, rigorously evaluate, and refine these solutions and their applications, ensuring that the evidence created is used to improve the lives of the world\u2019s poor. In recent decades, trillions of dollars have been spent on programs designed to reduce global poverty, but clear evidence on which programs succeed is rare, and when evidence does exist, decision-makers often do not know about it. IPA exists to bring together leading researchers and these decision-makers to ensure that the evidence we create leads to tangible impact on the world. Since its founding in 2002, IPA has worked with over 600leading academics to conduct over 830evaluations in 52countries. This research has informed hundreds of successful programs that now impact millions of individuals worldwide. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Accounting Intern<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Abuja (FCT)<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Internship<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We need a motivated accounting intern who is ready to apply knowledge of financial terms and principles to improve IPA\u2019s financial policies and documentation. The intern will assist with a wide range of duties, including analyzing data, preparing financial reports, processing accounting information, and learning about varied accounting activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to maintaining adequate financial integrity to support quality and timely data input for generation of financial reports.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with filing, data entry, recording, and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.<\/li>\n<li>Support with the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, cash book, and other documents as may be required.<\/li>\n<li>Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Learning how to work as part of the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or vendors.<\/li>\n<li>Take additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.<\/li>\n<li>Collect, understand, process, verify and report accounting related information.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and utilize spreadsheets, databases, and other computer applications.<\/li>\n<li>Manage specialized information, reports, forms dealing with fees, billing, tracking of projects expenses etc.<\/li>\n<li>Daily input of information into the organization financial accounting system.<\/li>\n<li>Document, control, and secure Accounting Records.<\/li>\n<li>Support with filing of monthly remittances to various regulatory authorities.<\/li>\n<li>Support with daily office administrative tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and\/or Work Experience Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>OND, HND, or Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>1+ years of relevant work experience in Accounting and Finance tracking.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles.<\/li>\n<li>Good analytical and report writing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to follow up on tasks to completion is required.<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy in the processing of cash transactions, mathematical aptitude, and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to be discreet when handling sensitive financial information<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented, flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with diverse teams across multiple locations is an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Written and spoken fluency in English is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>To Apply:<\/b><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their CV and statement of purpose (Cover Letter)\u00a0to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jobs_ipa_nigeria@poverty-action.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>jobs_ipa_nigeria@poverty-action.org<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0using the job title as the subject of the mail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>21st June, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications require you to include a statement of purpose (cover letter) and a CV.<\/li>\n<li>Given the volume of applications received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.<\/li>\n<li>IPA&#8217;s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, &amp; Inclusion (DEI)<\/li>\n<li>As an organization, IPA is dedicated to improving the lives of the world&#8217;s most vulnerable populations through evidence and policy.
