We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Head of Department<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> The CEO<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Risk Management &amp; Internal Control<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide leadership in consistently dimensioning and managing risk and ensuring the enforcement of operational and financial internal controls system that will help management to safeguard the organization\u2019s resources, produce reliable financial reports, and comply with laws and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>The enforcement or risk management and internal control practices will ensure a reduction in the possibility of significant errors, irregularities, and fraud by assisting in their timely detection when they do occur.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure implementation of treasury and Cash management policies in the back office and report identified weaknesses.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Special Investigation as may be assigned from time to time.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct spot checks, stock-taking and other functions as may be assigned from time to time.<\/li>\n<li>Identify areas of financial and administrative strengths and weaknesses and develop best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out detailed investigations when discrepancy, cash suppression or fraud is noticed.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct internal control checks and records to safeguard the company\u2019s assets working withthe control officers.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement appropriate operating procedures to ensure compliance with the company and industry policies.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and provide advice to management to minimize risk resulting from poor controls.<\/li>\n<li>Recommend market risk limits (dealer limits, exposure limits etc) in line with the approved market risk appetite of the Bank.<\/li>\n<li>Support and advise internal control officers with their analysis and day-today tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Support and advise risk officer with his \/ her analysis and day-today risk management tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Suggest, develop, and implement measures for a better risk management framework and the improvement of internal controls.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure detailed understanding of all Profit and Loss and risk drivers and ensure compliance levels against established risk appetite.<\/li>\n<li>Systematically identify, assess, monitor, and report market risk through active portfolio analysis and engagement with the business areas.<\/li>\n<li>Design the organization\u2019s market risk strategy working with the risk officer.<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties as assigned by the CEO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Indices<\/strong><br \/>\nThe following KPIs shall be used to monitor the performance of the HOD<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Low levels of losses and frauds due to policy and control violations<\/li>\n<li>Number of improvement opportunities identified per audit exercise\/functional area\/operating companies<\/li>\n<li>Level of company-wide adherence to internal controls<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy and timeliness of audit reports<\/li>\n<li>Efficiency of the company\u2019s processes<\/li>\n<li>Number of frauds\/fraudulent intentions detected<\/li>\n<li>Company employee adherence to internal controls and policies<\/li>\n<li>Frequency of customer complaint\/commendation on service provided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, and related discipline from a recognized university<\/li>\n<li>Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACIB, CFA, CISA is desirable<\/li>\n<li>A Minimum of 10 years\u2019 experience, with at least 5 years in a risk management and \/or internal control roles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:<br \/>\nThe incumbent must have proficient knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent risk assessment and mitigation skills<\/li>\n<li>Good managerial \/ supervisory skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical and numerical skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing and communications skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skill<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Good decision-making skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply:<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their CV to:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:recruitment@gusconsulting.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recruitment@gusconsulting.com<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0using the Job Title as the subject of the mail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>Not Specified.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GUS Consulting Limited is one of the top Human Capital Development service providers in Nigeria.
