The focus of our client is to deliver medical excellence and global standards of quality service, providing exceptional patient care through outstanding medical outcomes and high-quality nursing care.<\/p>\n<p>They are recruiting leaders who are ready to contribute to the achievement of their goals in the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Paediatric\u00a0\/ Neonatal Intensivist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Lekki, Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Full-time<br \/>\n<strong>Department \/ Division:<\/strong> Paediatrics \/ Neonatology<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Chief Medical Officer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Neonatal intensivist is a member of the senior medical team and coordinates specialized care for patients with neonatal critical illnesses.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she provides leadership and guidance in establishing the highest standards of care and ensuring optimal delivery of quality care in line with international best practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Clinical:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for the clinical care of critically ill neonates admitted to ICU according to generally accepted standards.<\/li>\n<li>Ultrasound guided interventional procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Basic and Advanced Neonatal and Paediatric Life Support certification and abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Mechanical ventilation and High-frequency oscillatory ventilation management.<\/li>\n<li>Competencies in the operation and management of CRRT and Peritoneal dialysis in Paediatric patients.<\/li>\n<li>Hands on experience in management of various Neonatal and Paediatric Critical Care Patients, including Neurological Intensive Care, Cardiovascular Intensive care (post-operative cardiovascular patients, ECMO and ventricular assist devices), Heart Failure, Trauma Intensive Care, Surgical Intensive Care, Respiratory Therapy, ICU Nutrition, Infectious disease, Post Cardio &#8211; Thoracic surgery care, Pulmonary Hypertension ICU Management, and Right Heart Catheterization.<\/li>\n<li>Possess general medical knowledge and an understanding of how treatments affect different developmental growth stages<\/li>\n<li>Should be updated on the latest breakthroughs in the field of Neonatology and Paediatrics.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain detailed reports on each child and also report on their progress<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with any other specialist the patient might be seeing<\/li>\n<li>Give medicines that are compatible with other medicines the patient is taking<\/li>\n<li>Advice patients on any alternative treatment they might be seeking<\/li>\n<li>Help the patient to fully recover from their illness and have the patient follow up even after they are okay as post-recovery treatment is considered important<\/li>\n<li>To communicate and cooperate with other medical staff and colleagues who wish to discuss other pertinent medical problems regarding neonates in other areas of the hospital.<\/li>\n<li>To be in charge specifically of ventilatory, circulatory fluid and nutritional therapy concerning the neonates and Paediatrics in the ICU.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Academics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keeping abreast of the latest medical information through continuous medical education, formal education and personal professional development.<\/li>\n<li>Managing junior staff in the performance of their clinical duties<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate and make clinical &amp; non-clinical presentations at hospital clinical meetings as assigned<\/li>\n<li>Observing and staying up-to-date with the laws and statutory codes of medical practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Administrative:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in design and formulation of unit policies, SOPs and clinical pathways<\/li>\n<li>Performing other applicable tasks and duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.<\/li>\n<li>Membership of hospital committee as assigned<\/li>\n<li>Abiding by the hospital rules, protocols and standard practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requisite Education, Experience, and Formal Training:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Medical Training<\/li>\n<li>Residency Training and Specialty Fellowship in Paediatrics &amp; Neonatology of either the West African College of Physicians (WACP) and\/or the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>OR:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Equivalent fellowship from recognized and accredited institutions in a country where you can obtain license to practice in Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>Relevant certifications in BLS, ACLS and PALS<\/li>\n<li>Post Fellowship Specialty knowledge and experience for up to 3 years<\/li>\n<li>Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria with valid practice license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Knowledge \/ Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extra skills and experience in managing PICU cases<\/li>\n<li>Sympathetic bedside manners<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work long, flexible and on-call hours, often under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Ability to solve problems<\/li>\n<li>Effective decision-making and leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>Leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills, compassion and a good bedside manner<\/li>\n<li>Drive to continue learning throughout career.<\/li>\n<li>Strong IT\/computer skills<\/li>\n<li>Good practical skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team<\/li>\n<li>A \u2018cool head\u2019 in emergency situations<\/li>\n<li>Respect for patients\u2019 rights;
