In the US, Africa, and Asia, Helen Keller\u2019s proven, science-based programs empower people to create opportunities in their own lives and build lasting change We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Finance and Admin Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Full-time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scope of the Position:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Finance and Admin Officer\u2019s (FAO) job is to ensure smooth and accurate flow of financial and operational information and also work on designing and implementing financial reports.<\/li>\n<li>The FAA ensures effective implementation of project activities in the field location within the context of financial, contractual and operating systems.<\/li>\n<li>He\/ she also manages the budget for the state field office\/project, implements Helen Keller financial policies and procedures, ensure compliance and works collaboratively with other Finance and projects technical staff to facilitate projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Finance and Admin Officer will oversee the operations and finances of the state office.<\/li>\n<li>Review activity requests and prepare bank vouchers for payments.<\/li>\n<li>Track cash flow and compile retirement receipts and review.<\/li>\n<li>Manages petty cash reconciliation.<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of office running budget.<\/li>\n<li>Check matching expenses for compliance with donor regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with month end reporting package.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure implementation of regulations and procedures for local purchase, procurement and logistics management in collaboration with Logistics Officer(s) and Associate(s).<\/li>\n<li>Maintain rigorous operations in the field office, communicating regularly with the Abuja office to assure smooth operations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist technical staff to develop and manage monthly and quarterly activity budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Implement financial and internal control policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Process supplier invoices.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain financial files and records.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the assets register.<\/li>\n<li>Submit staff time sheets for payroll processing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University Degree in Business Management or Accounting.<\/li>\n<li>Postgraduate Degree in related field and possession of professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Professional experience supporting USAID-funded projects and managing state finance &amp; Admin function is preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 4 years experience.<\/li>\n<li>Strong numeric skills and attention to detail and quality.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with USAID funded project is preferred but other donor funded project will be considered<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel spreadsheets.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate good judgment and sound financial \u201ccommon sense\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to create and monitor budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the principles of adequate documentation and of audit and performance necessary to ensure audit compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced written and verbal proficiency in English including business terminology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Tertiary qualifications in a related field and experience working in a non-profit organization will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people at all levels internally and externally<\/li>\n<li>Ability to plan, balance and cope with competing priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Good written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good standard of IT including experience of using MS Office.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage teams, initiate and organize work.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish priorities in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.<\/li>\n<li>Logical and flexible approach to solving problems, especially when working under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring\/assessing performance to make improvements or take corrective action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Terms &amp;
