We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Human Resource and Operations Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja, Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong> Permanent<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Country Director<br \/>\n<strong>Management responsibility:<\/strong> Drivers &amp; Janitor<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong> 12 Months<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This post holder will be responsible for the employee life cycle management of staff in the Nigeria country office.<\/li>\n<li>The HR Officer will work under the supervision of the Country Director to ensure Alert Nigeria is compliant with labor laws.<\/li>\n<li>The post holder will be responsible forday-to-day office operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Human Resources management:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support with induction and orientation of country staff with regards to Alert Nigeria\u2019s HR and Operational systems.<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance and ensure employees are using Alert\u2019s performance management system.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor probation periods and reviews and ensure outcomes are communicated formally.<\/li>\n<li>Manage payroll preparation and statutory and internal deductions, maintain payroll records and issuing monthly payslips<\/li>\n<li>Monitor employee\u2019s enrolment into local benefits and insurances.<\/li>\n<li>Tracking leave, eligibility and balances of all staff ensuring records are updated as per organizational requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the Alert\u2019s HR system (People HR) up to date<\/li>\n<li>Support the country office with the full life cycle of recruitment process<\/li>\n<li>Liaise closely with HQ HR Team on any issues arising and as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Office Operations and administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of all aspects of the country HR processes.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the office operations while ensuring operational requirements including utility bills are paid and up to date, operational needs are met, rental agreements are kept up-to-date and facilities such as water, electricity, etc are maintained<\/li>\n<li>Maintain relationships with vendors (General order supply, flights, car, hotels etc) all across Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise Drivers and Janitors<\/li>\n<li>Make sure office vehicles are properly maintained and logbooks are compiled in an orderly fashion<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Alert is compliant with Alert global eco-friendly framework<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to developing and implementing project monitoring and evaluation plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Contribution to Alert:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure understanding of programme strategies and activities;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise closely with Alert\u2019s London office, especially the Facilities and HRteams, ensuring streamlined operations management between Nigeria and London, and providing required information in appropriate formats;<\/li>\n<li>When delegated, represent Alert Nigeria and participate in workshops<\/li>\n<li>Other relevant tasks as required by the line manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Travel requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The position will be based in Abuja, with regular travel to field locations in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management, Social Science, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or any other relevant discipline<\/li>\n<li>Experience in HR and Operations for an International NGO<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively (write, speak, and prepare reports) in English.
