We are seeking candidates with proven skills in managing large data sets; applying statistics, machine learning, and other techniques to drive towards meaningful insights; and presenting these insights to varied stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>CrossBoundary is not a development firm and is not seeking typical development skills. As a Data Scientist, you will be a part of a cross-disciplinary team that has the potential to create a significant positive impact on underserved communities.<\/li>\n<li>You will work with data sets of vastly varying size, granularity, and quality and connect that information to concrete recommended actions. Data Scientist candidates should have at least 3\u00a0years of work experience (or applicable post-graduate education), with 1\u00a0year\u00a0of experience working in high-caliber data science or consulting organizations. Experience working in developing countries will be regarded favorably.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Management of data sets relevant to individual projects.<\/li>\n<li>Analysis of historical data to identify past and current patterns as well as causal relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of predictive models, &#8220;What-if&#8221; scenarios, and time-series predictions<\/li>\n<li>Design of recommendation algorithms to select optimal choices from universe of options.<\/li>\n<li>Co-teaming with advisory and other teams and driving them to connect the data to valuable insights.<\/li>\n<li>Management of relationships with stakeholders to create trust in the project deliverables.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 years of work experience (or applicable Post-graduate education), with 1\u00a0year\u00a0of experience working in high-caliber data science or consulting organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in developing countries will be regarded favorably<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in at least one data-focused programming language (e.g.: Python, R, MATLAB).<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in advanced statistical applications: non-parametric regression and classification, Bayesian methods, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in visualization libraries (e.g.: Plotly, ggplot2, Tableau).<\/li>\n<li>Experience in version control (e.g.: Git\/GitHub) is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Experience manipulating and transforming large data sets (e.g.: SQL, Spark, HDFS) is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in numerical optimization (e.g.: gradient-based techniques and MILP) is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with GIS tools (e.g.: ArcGIS, QGIS) is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and to learn new skills with minimal supervision<\/li>\n<li>Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Who You Are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A self-starter who is passionate about creating lasting change in frontier markets<\/li>\n<li>Seeks to take on new types of work, even without prior experience\/direct supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Shows willingness to work, travel, and live in a sometimes-challenging environment.<\/li>\n<li>Has comfort with ambiguity and an ability to operate effectively in a changing context.<\/li>\n<li>Can build strong relationships with clients and colleagues in stressful environments.<\/li>\n<li>Applies a &#8220;hacker mindset&#8221; towards challenges and unsolved problems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>To Apply:<\/b><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/crossboundary.applytojob.com\/apply\/8CSsNES9I9\/Data-Scientist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to apply online<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Application Deadline:<\/b><br \/>\n31st March, 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Equal Opportunity Employer: CrossBoundary is an equal opportunity employer.
