The organisation was founded in November 1980 and has a presence in over 50 countries. JRS undertakes services at national and regional levels with the support and guidance of an international office in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>The style of JRS service is human and spiritual, working in situations of greatest need, seeking the long-term wellbeing of refugees and displaced persons, while not neglecting their immediate or urgent needs. JRS offers opportunities to a wide variety of staff, local and international, while maintaining a realistic and localised scheme of salary\/stipend, insurance, etc. We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Logistics Assistant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>JRS is recruiting for the position of Logistics Assistant to be based in Maiduguri in Borno State in preparation for the anticipated funding from the European Commission Directorate for Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) for implementing programs in Dikwa and Monguno LGAs of Borno State, Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>The Logistics Assistant will support the implementation of JRS projects in Borno state, Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He is mainly responsible for all logistics activities in the office, including Procurement, Transport\/Movement Management, Storage and Assets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Role \/ Mission:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the guidance of the Project Director plan and prepare the weekly activities of the logistics department.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accuracy of all inventories, manage stock levels.<\/li>\n<li>Receive, verify purchased goods, and review bills, purchase orders and invoices.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the movement of JRS personnel in the field: flight bookings, communication of departure and arrival times to staff and drivers.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the transport of project equipment, receiving of procured goods.<\/li>\n<li>Plan the movement of devices, track their maintenance and repair, as well as the generator and other devices.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare an orderly list for JRS goods and create contingency plans to ensure that all implemented logistics programs work successfully.<\/li>\n<li>Reception and accommodation of staff at the guesthouse.<\/li>\n<li>Overall supervision of project Drivers.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up of the maintenance of the office and the guesthouse.<\/li>\n<li>Organize files manually and electronically.<\/li>\n<li>Submit to the Project Director\/National Logistics Officer a weekly and monthly report of activities .<\/li>\n<li>Report to the hierarchy any cases of loss or lack of material.<\/li>\n<li>Propose actions that are useful for improving the department.<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties assigned by the Project Director\/National Logistics Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the logbook and vehicle maintenance registers up to date, record official travel, daily mileage, fuel consumption, technical screening and insurance renewal dates, and prepare a monthly vehicle report to be forwarded to the National Logistics Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Promote PSEA and safeguarding standards within JRS and amongst the beneficiaries it serves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Profile:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of HND \/ BSc in a relevant field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience and Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least three (3) years\u2019 relevant experience in an INGO.<\/li>\n<li>Traceable references from previous employers.<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of Donor rules and regulations and donor requirements<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power point)<\/li>\n<li>Responsive to emergency situations<\/li>\n<li>Experience in implementing ECHO projects.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with prioritization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adhere to JRS values and abide by the code of conduct and other policies.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient command of the English language (written and oral).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Kanuri and Hausa is required.<\/li>\n<li>Proven work experience in multicultural and stressful environments.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to adapt to working conditions and tasks that may change with the reality of the field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply:<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their Cover Letter and CV to:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"mailto:vacancies.nigeriahr@jrs.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vacancies.nigeriahr@jrs.net<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0usinf the Job Title as the subject of the email.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong><br \/>\n30th April, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>JRS is an equal opportunity employer regardless of religion, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic groups.
